Sorry for the late update!  And no, I can’t tell you what happened at the San Diego Zoo.  Too shocking for words.

Heh, so we get to watch her sing? I hope so… I’m looking forward to this.

I’ve read this since the first comic and I’m already addicted! AMAZING job.

  2. Kate Says:

    I love Janny. XD

    Great!

  3. Namsab Says:

Poor girl, business is eating her up… Maybe next page she’ll jump on stage and tell her fans that she quits to marry..that guy in the front row there! XD

I’m so glad I found this comic before it’s already fourty pages long, so I can watch it grow from the start

  4. Bobby Crosby Says:

“Maybe next page she’ll jump on stage and tell her fans that she quits to marry..that guy in the front row there! XD”

    Ha, that’s crazy talk.

  5. Courteney Says:

This comic is beginning to get extremely intriguing…I find myself checking it every day even though I know it dosn’t update that often!!!

  6. Brianna Says:

I love this comic so far, expressions and personalities are very clear and well done! I especially like where its all going; average joe, famous woman, ooooh. Cant wait for the next update!

  7. Kristen Says:

I still say she needs to give Gary a shot. ;p

But anyway, I’m always checking for updates and new comments. This comic makes me giddy with anticipation.

  8. Mewt Says:

Hey, don’t joke about Gary. Gary is clearly a goal-oriented man.

That goal just happens to be the nuclear erradication of Russia.

    But it’s a goal nonetheless!

  9. FreeSample Says:

I think in the next pages, that guy named Guy will look at stasia, fall in love with her, and then write “Marry me” in the back of the “school’s out” poster.

Seems predictable, but, so far, the story is being as fascinating as the drawings of Eisu. ^^

  10. Tamanegi Says:

    I just realized it after page 4, and for those of you who are as blind as I am: Take a look at the reflection in her glasses in the “cover” pic ^^;

He MUST have something to do with it!

  11. Valerie Says:

Wow! This is cool!^^ I also read your other story, No Pink Ponies. You’re an awesome comic artist/writer. Update as soon as you can, please^^

  12. ayaluvtoya07 Says:

hey this comic is cool!!! i can’t w8 to see the next pages…… and it’s cool that the protagonist is a singer.. hehe ^_^

  13. Outshined Says:

Huh… how old is Stasia? She’s been in the pop singer industry for 7 years, according to Janny, but she’s just recently graduated college. On average, that would make her about 21, so she’s been in pop since age 14 or so? Maybe she is part of a “Hollywood Family” where everyone is just kind of raised to be in showbusiness?

  14. Bobby Crosby Says:

FreeSample: You are incorrect, sorry! And based on all the guesses so far, this story is apparently amazingly unpredictable — much more so than I thought!

Valerie: Eisu is the best! Very happy to have him illustrating this project.

Outshined: Average age of graduating from college is 21??? No, it’s more like 24 or 25, I’m 99 percent sure, and it would probably take even longer for Stasia, since she’s so busy with her career. But anyway, she’s 23 or 24. And she’s not part of a “Hollywood Family,” no. I see Stasia as more of a Mandy Moore type than anyone else probably, and she was I think 15 when she became super famous. Mandy Moore would also be a good option to play Stasia in the movie.

  15. Duckity Says:

I’ve been reading this from page two and I’m excited. xD I wish it updated every, like, hour, but of course that would involve far too much work than I’d wish upon anybody. It’s fabulous though and I’m looking forward to more.

  16. Outshined Says:

It could take longer. I was going by personal experience… but most people graduate high school at age 17-18 or so, and then college (assuming a bachelor’s degree) is (usually) 4 years. So 21-22. Of course, If you get into Master’s, Doctorates, etc. Then yeah, you would be going to school longer. At her age, she could very well have her master’s by now =).

  17. Namsab Says:

“Take a look at the reflection in her glasses in the “cover” pic ^^;”
I just now realized that there even is a ‘cover’. xP (Yeah I’m slow)
She looks pretty conflicted in that picture, not like some popstar would look if one of her many fans would hold up a marry me! poster (That probably happens all the time). Maybe she knows Guy from the past, and meets him again at the concert? Maybe the ‘thing’ that all her ex-boyfriends have in common, like she said, is something similiar to him? Appearance, character, whatever.
I wish I could figure this out. .-.

  18. Bobby Crosby Says:

Stasia has never met Guy and he has nothing in common with her ex-boyfriends!

  19. Mewt Says:

Guy is obviously a Russian spy sent to remove Gary before his message reaches the clear-thinking minds of the U.S. Military.

    Ahhhh Motherland!

  20. Greg Says:

Okay. I’m hooked. And Eisu’s art is beautiful and so expressive.

Got any linky graphics? Because this is SO going on my links page.

  21. Mojito Says:

I bet Guy is holding up the “Marry Me” Sign for Parker ( :

Such a fabulous comic by the way! Amazing art etc. I love ittt!

  22. Jesse Says:

Grad high school at 17, four year degree. Grad College/University by 21 if you don’t screw around. Might not be the same in the States, but in Canada not too many people screw around due to the high cost of university, and the average is closer to 21 than 25.

    my 2 cents

  23. Kate Says:

Tamanegi- If you look, Guy is wearing a green shirt on the cover.

Howeverrrr, he is wearing blue now.

YES I AM THAT ANAL SHUT UP.

    -k.

  24. Bobby Crosby Says:

    “Got any linky graphics?”

Just one so far. If anyone would like to make others themselves, that would be great, and please send them my way!

    Linky

“Might not be the same in the States, but in Canada not too many people screw around due to the high cost of university, and the average is closer to 21 than 25.”

I think that’s basically impossible, taking into account all the people who graduate at like age 40 (TONS), and all the people who go for more than four years (TONS). In America it’s almost unheard of to graduate at 21. Probably less than 1 percent of Americans graduate at 21 or younger. The actual average age is probably 26 or 27. We could probably look this up. I only had one year of college, at Pasadena City College, which I think is the largest community college in the world, with a student body of close to 40,000 now, I think. And anyway, it seemed like at least half of the people in all my classes were over 25, and this is just JUNIOR COLLEGE, with most students planning to transfer to a university after two or three years. My friend Jimmy went one year at a university, then three years at PCC, then three more years at a university before getting his bachelor’s degree at 25. And there are thousands of others like him. And anyway, with Stasia’s schedule, it would take her longer than most, but she still did it pretty quick.

  25. Septimus Praetorious Says:

When I first saw this comic, I said to myself: I would be very surprised if they can really deliver this three times a week as a hobby. As much as I’m enjoying it, you should scale back to twice/week, at least until you’re into the rythym of doing it.

Very few people can really sustain that level of output, even as their *job*, let alone on the side. Of course, it’s your life (or lack thereof, as the case may be.)

The people who attend elite schools - UC, Stanford, the Ivy League, MIT, evem ,pst second-tier schools - generally start at 18 and usually do graduate in 4 years. This is how someone would get the impression that “most people” do so. Obviously those schools represent a fraction of a fraction of the total population, but if that’s who you know, that’s the impression you get.

  26. Duckity Says:

“In America it’s almost unheard of to graduate at 21.”

Perhaps, but not necessairily. My brother is graduating from college next year at age 20. He’s graduating a year early, but only one year. Most people I personally know graduate from high school at about 18 or so and graduate college at about 22 or 23, some even at 21, but generally a year or two older. 21 may not be extremely common, but there are a lot of bachelor degree graduates (if they go right on from high school or take only a year off) that graduate by the time they’re 23 or so. I think my dad graduated from college when he was 20 too, actually, because he entered college a year early at 16. My mother went to college for six years (first at a local community college and then at a higher university), so she graduated from college at 24-ish (she entered college at 17).

“The actual average age is probably 26 or 27.”

Considering full-grown adults who go in for degrees for either the first time, or a second, third, or whatever time, the average is probably higher, but if we’re considering a young adult who went from high school to college, they probably graduate from college in their early twenties rather than late twenties. Not necessairily 21, but who knows? If I go to college for a bachelors, I’ll be graduating at 22.

Anyways, that’s enough on that debate. xD I’m still lovin’ it and looking forward to more. :)

  27. Bobby Crosby Says:

“When I first saw this comic, I said to myself: I would be very surprised if they can really deliver this three times a week as a hobby. As much as I’m enjoying it, you should scale back to twice/week, at least until you’re into the rythym of doing it.”

I’m not sure if you’re aware, but I write two other MWF strips, both of which have never missed a day in almost 120 strips, and Eisu works on several comics as well, most notably No Pink Ponies, which misses updates sometimes, but has still averaged about 13 strips per month (3 per week) for over a year. We did miss one day so far, but we’re not worrying TOO much about making every update for this graphic novel. The MWF schedule is partly there just to inspire us to do as much as possible, but I doubt we’ll miss many more days, if any. Eisu was very busy with work last week and that’s why we had to skip one update (and I didn’t exactly get him the script forever in advance). The new page for today will go up in about 10 minutes.

“The people who attend elite schools - UC, Stanford, the Ivy League, MIT, evem ,pst second-tier schools - generally start at 18 and usually do graduate in 4 years. This is how someone would get the impression that ‘most people’ do so.”

I was just talking about the average age. It’s not like any of that matters, though. All that would matter is the average age of graduating from college for a pop star, and there are almost no precedents for that to look at anyway.

  28. Sally the Timid Says:

I’ve been reading this since Eisu posted a link over from No Pink Ponies, and now it’s Friday and neither have been updated, so I’m going to take this chance to put in my theory of the plot: Parker asks Guy to hand her the sign that is resting on the ground/against one of their legs/whatever, and he picks it up to hand it to her. Stasia sees this. Now, there have to be all kinds of signs like this at this concert, so it’d be weird if she was overly flustered by it, despite her conversation immediately before heading up to the concert. Now, Parker has some sort of backstage pass (?) because she’s the Official Head Editor, and, besides, she paid someone a lot of money to get it. She is dragging Guy around with her and then stuff happens. (Where “stuff” can be translated as “things that I can’t even guess at.”)

A note on any missings of MWF schedule: The “Hob” story done by Dresden Codak is supposed to be updated every week, according to his newspost associated with a filler that is no longer on the page. It’s sort of a good idea not to trust him, as readers have found, but still - getting page-sized comics that are all well-drawn and colored and enjoyable to read on a MWF schedule is something exciting enough, and readers shouldn’t complain when something comes up.

  29. Wolf Says:

    Not exactly, Sally…

  30. Rubi Says:

I actually graduated high school at 17, went to college the next year, and got my bachelor’s a month after I turned 20, and I coud have walked the previous semester. I finished college in 2.3 years. So I guess you can say that the age at graduation depends more on the individual.

  31. comic# Says:

wow this is a really good comic. keep ‘em coming ;)
