Page 24: Grow Old and Die

Tuesday, May 1st, 2007

This page ends the first collection book of Marry Me, which we’ll be printing soon and will have available for pre-order shortly on the site. It’s full color, 24 pages, and I hope you’ll buy it! I’m really pleased with the graphic novel so far and I have to thank Eisu again for the incredible job he’s done. He’s the best and I hope to work with him for a long time.

  1. Larry Bernard Says:

this hook I didn’t see coming LOL

  2. Magic Gboy Says:

and so… reason has been smacked once again by Stacia…

  3. wesoly_alien Says:

    I didn’t see that coming…
But I love expression on Guy’s face in panel 5.
Stasia is so like Scarlett O’Hara here, but it depends if she says it with a little desperation in her voice.
    Go Stasia! Go Stasia!

  4. absolutirony Says:

have to say, my FAVORITE page so far. Excellent excellent stuff, thank you Bobby & Eisu!

  5. Datura Says:

Hahahaha, last two panels for the win. I love Guy’s jaw drop!

  6. JTMurdock Says:

This should be an interesting series. I hope you can keep it going.

  7. Nate Says:

    HA! Love it!

Nothing solves a problem like sticking to your guns. Even if you’re out of ammo, you can probably bluff your way through life.

  8. Chapin Says:

Umm… Guy just hit the jackpot. Even moreso than marrying her in the first place.

  9. Jared Says:

    BEST
    PROPOSAL
    EVER.

“if it’s the last thing I do!” was just genius considering what immediately preceded it, and the last panel makes it even better. Someone get this girl a mic, ’cause she has a career in comedy just begging to start.

  10. George Says:

Oh man, th expressions on that page were genius (great job Eisu), as was Stasia’s logic. =P

  11. Lydia Says:

The expressions on their faces = PRICELESS! If I were Jan, I’d have died from high blood pressure by now.

  12. Bobby Crosby Says:

    ” ‘if it’s the last thing I do!’ was just genius . . .”

I have a text file of notes for “Marry Me” which is over 10,000 words long now and the very first sentence in the file is “I’m going to grow old and die with you if it’s the last thing I do!” Wrote that over four years ago when I first thought of the idea for the movie, because that was the main line I didn’t want to forget. So it’s cool now to see it in comic form finally.

  13. JL Anderson Says:

I look forward to seeing the printed version! I’ll definatly order a copy. ^_^
I’ve enjoyed the ride so far!

  14. >_> Says:

Guy in the last panel is awesome! Must…Eat…Face… =O,..,O=

  15. Tiami Says:

“I’ll die with you if it’s the last thing I do” and the expressions throughout are genius; I especially love Parker and Janny’s horror of the 5th panel with the face-slapping of the sixth. They don’t want this marriage to continue, but Stasia’s line was just so *bad*.

  16. WrathTheSin Says:

Just the last two panels would make a great ad banner. Guy’s jaw-dropping is the same thing I’d do in his place. And the tandem headsmack just screams “Ow! You are making my head hurt!”. These expressions are priceless. I’ll bet you have sketchbooks full of concept expressions for each character. Good job guys, keep it coming.

  17. Zahooee Says:

Poor guy…he really doesn’t have a say in any of this does he?

Parker is just about an angstrom away from losing it completely, and apparently Stasia lost it a while ago.

I honestly think she would be in it for the long haul simply to keep from being labeled as crazy.

“I’m going to grow old and die with you if it’s the last thing I do!”

  18. Zahooee Says:

    Damn! that less-than-sign-post eater-bug…

  19. Bobby Crosby Says:

Part of the Panel 6 description: “Guy maybe now drops his jaw a little, like an open mouthed ‘This is just crazy’ type expression, speechless. And now maybe Janny puts a hand on her own forehead in frustration, like ‘D’oh! Stasia’s a moron!’ And maybe Parker does the same thing! Similar gesture with the hand on her own head.”

  20. Ali Shobbur Says:

    I love the comic!
Original Idea, great facial expressions, I’ve been checking it out for updates almost every couple of days, ^^

A little criticism if I may.
1- I noticed something while am at it, the dude; “Guy” is passive through all these events, he has no saying in whatever situation he’s into, he just goes with the current… So far that is.
2- Although the story is great and the events makes me eager for the next page,
The last few pages are obviously done roughly and with more haste than the 1st few pages. Please don’t sacrifice the art for the sake of the story, they both complete each other.

  21. Kate Says:

Definitely my favourite page so far. I love EVERYTHING about it, from the expressions to the dialogue. Those last two panels were just hilarious.

  22. Andy-o Says:

    Bernie has created a monster!

Stasia reminds me of uncle Sam in the fifth panel. “I WANT YOU!” xD

  23. Bish Says:

Awesome comic Bobby! loving it! When its printed, will you be shipping to merry old England?

  24. Paris Hurdle Says:

    My My.. Aren’t we brave!!

  25. Taylor Says:

    0_0 …
    0_0

    I LOVE THIS! XD

Hurry and finish it so I can go back to having a life? Wonderfully done.

  26. Vanderbilt Rodney Says:

Yes, because being married to a stranger forever is so much crazier than marrying a stranger, breaking up and then laughing about it. And how are they going to make Guy go along with this? “Well, everybody thinks I’m gay anyway, and it’s not like I have anything better going for me”? Get real. If the guy on the TV is calling it a publicity stunt, nobody is going to care if she gets a divorce. People understand publicity stunts for being just that: publicity.

I really hope the characters sit and talk more about this because it’s just still too unbelievable right now.

  27. neni Says:

that was great XD i love guy’s face on the last panel, just priceless!

  28. CrazyAussie Says:

    Love it!!!

  29. Syl Says:

“I can’t let everyone think I’m crazy … I’m going to grow old and die with you if it’s the last thing I do!”
    Hahaha, nice logic there. >^^

  30. Luna Says:

I love this page the best.. the way the guy’s face looked was classic

  31. Lina Says:

Yeah, I LOLed with the last two panels and the faces. Beautiful artwork and great expressions! I can’t wait to see what happens next!

  32. lightdefender Says:

Everyone is commenting on the “grow old and die” line, but the following line, “What’s your name again?” is also deliciously ironic, especially in juxtaposition with the previous line. Great job, Bobby.

  33. Kina Says:

    One word:

    Bravo.

  34. pero Says:

Guy looks kinda.. angry.. in that last panel.

Sort of like a “I can NOT believe what you just said to me”, rather than the “I can’t BELIEVE what you just said to me” that everyone else who has commented so far, seems to take the expression as.

    Meh.

  35. matthias Says:

I know it seems weird and all but I totally back Stacia’s logic about the whole “what if it lasts forever” I totally can here a kind of a sick desperation in her voice throughout the entire page and I think that is what gives her such a strange approach to the situation because she just wants a change in her life and to be considered better than the other stars around her. over all a very awesome page in a very awesome story. Good job guys. Keep ‘em coming

  36. Sara Says:

Well.. you can give her credit for sticking with her choices. You never know they may end up great togther!

  37. ThatOneChick Says:

I love Parker’s face in Panel six. Eveyone else is going on about the lines…
Seriously. The face just has me caught.

    Brilliant as ever.

  38. Kaziel Says:

Peronally I love Guy’s face in panel six. Hilarious. I’m dying here!

Anyway, just added it to my daily “must check” list of comics. :D

  39. Andy Says:

Love it. Definitely the best page yet.

  40. Valerie Says:

    Stasia: What’s your name again?
    Parker and Janny: *FACEPALM*

    XD!!

    The only problem I’ve got with this page… well, I guess it’s the only problem I’ve had with anything in the comic so far. XD But Guy’s face in the last panel. He doesn’t seem surprised or annoyed to me. He looks like maybe he’s about to start screaming at her. o0;

Everything else looks great, though! Stasia is especially cute in the third panel^^

(And, aaaas always, still ♥in’ Parker!)

  41. KittyKat Says:

    Guy’s face = priceless.

I actually laughed out loud. Stasia should be shaking a carrot at him a la Miss O’Hara. Definately.

    Janny & Parker = D’oh

  42. Namsab Says:

Wow, what an ending for the first part! XD
And that logic is just so typically Stasia. “No one will think I’m crazy if the marriage lasts!”

I just LOVE Parker’s and Janny’s expressions in the last two panels. XD

  43. Lenerd Says:

OMG poor Guy. That woman is going to be hard to live with at first to say the least.
The last 2 panels Guy’s face is priceless.
Not even Stasia knows what they are getting into

  44. Marco Says:

    Ahaha!!

    Awesome!

  45. Tori Says:

What’s really sad is that Stasia’s idea has quite a bit of logic in it…

  46. Jemearl Says:

I just read through the archives, and I really like what I see so far!

One comment, though: The archive needs a “First, Next, Previous and Current” link to make navigation easier. Clicking on a drop down is OK for a few pages, but after 5 or so it becomes tiresome.

Great job so far! Keep it up! You have a new fan!

PS: I found you from Something Positive, btw.

  47. Kate Says:

    Simultaneous facepalm for the win.

As well as jawdrop. Facial expressions are fun!

  48. totz Says:

Seriously the best page yet, and an obvious end to the first chapter. No one’s mentioned Janny’s expression in panel five yet, but that’s the best part of it for me. The whole “what the f—?!? You’re completely insane!” look is just perfect.

  49. Bobby Crosby Says:

“I really hope the characters sit and talk more about this because it’s just still too unbelievable right now.”

It’s not crazier than anything Britney Spears has done, that’s for sure!

We will be shipping to England, yes!

We would love to have proper navigation buttons, but we suck at HTML and we’re not sure how to do it through WordPress. You don’t need to keep using the dropdown, though — below the strips there are at least “Previous Comic” and “Next Comic” buttons, see? They’re at the top of each blog post. That’s what I use.

  50. dragonmage Says:

The last panel is definitely my favorite :D Stasia’s stubborn/defiant expression is priceless as are Guy’s shocked gaping and the double face palms.

  51. Valerie Says:

“It’s not crazier than anything Britney Spears has done, that’s for sure!”

    Nice, Bobby. XD

  52. Kit! Says:

Interesting so far…I’ll keep an eye on it. Good idea advertising on S*P!

  53. Andy-o Says:

“It’s not crazier than anything Britney Spears has done, that’s for sure!”

    Nice, Bobby. XD

She’s not crazier than Britney either!

  54. Valerie Says:

“She’s not crazier than Britney either!”

    Hopefully not… Let’s see…

    Britney: Married a back-up dancer.
Stasia: Married some random guy in the audience.

Not sure who’s crazier there. XD

    Britney: Dropped a baby.
Stasia: Dropped Guy’s jaw, if anything.

    Britney’s crazier/stupider in that one.

Britney: Got a divorce after a day or two, saying the marriage was just for fun.
Stasia: Wants to hold on to her marriage, no matter how weird it is.

Stasia seems to have better morals…

    Britney: Shaved her head.
Stasia: Trying to shave off the rumors that she’s crazy.

…Yeah, Stasia is nowhere near as crazy as Britney, so I agree with you, Andy-o. XD

  55. Alecks Says:

This is seriously the most brilliant page of writing I have ever come across on a webcomic. I love Jan’s line… and Stacia’s quick and seemingly irrational (but actually not so unreasonable) solution to the whole situation… her absolute resolve…

Seriously, every single line in this page was perfect. And the facial expressions too.

  56. Chiisuchina Mizuno Says:

I have been loving this comic since…. oh, page 14 or so. Maybe earlier. Everything about it is great! Once I start getting money again (thank the gods for my new job), I’ll make sure to buy the book. ^^

When this comes out as a movie, I will be certain to get a large group of people together to see it on the first day, if not the first showing. Great job!! ^_^

  57. El Says:

Thanks for leaving a comment over at my comic, Bobby! :D Aw, and it’s fab this week…updates two days in a row! ^^ Eisu’s art is gorgeous and the story, now that it’s a bit more developed, is just getting hilarious. So you beat Penny Arcade cause I don’t laugh at that. ;) Hope ya put the print release on Amazon or something, cause you have readers in FINLAND you know… (ah, me n JJ at least… ;))

  58. Elliot Kane Says:

Absolutely hilarious! I’m glad I wasn’t drinking anything while I read that, else I’d have sprayed it everywhere! My favourite page so far :D

  59. Lydia Says:

I just had a thought. They could pretend this is an arranged marriage. :p

A lot of couples joined in that manner don’t meet until their ceremony, anyway.

  60. JennL Says:

“Yes, because being married to a stranger forever is so much crazier than marrying a stranger, breaking up and then laughing about it.”

Well, they won’t be strangers forever… LOL

Absolutely loving the comic. Thank you so very much for coming into my life.

  61. Caramel Says:

    Ohh, he looks PISSED…XDD

I LOVE Janny’s expression in panel five.

  62. Derek Says:

Great comic and can’t wait to see the movie!

Is it me or does anybody feel sorry for this guy? I mean he just married a neurotic prima donna. Honestly, unless Guy is a serial killer, I think Stasia got the better end of the deal.

I have to say something I like about this comic is how it shows people have such unrealistic expectations when it comes to marrige.

I once heard it said, “people like you for the smart things you do and love you for the stupid things you do.” Boy Stasia is going to be loved…

  63. Kayoko Says:

Whoa… Guy doesn’t seem to be happy… ;) Absolutely shocked in fact and pissed. XD Jenny’s gonna drive mad.

  64. pero Says:

Bobby the navigation tools seem broken. I am having to manually type in new pages to the address bar in order to view them.

  65. Jessie_M Says:

lovin’ this page… XD my fave panel is definitely the 5th one… It reminds me a lot of how celebrities do crazy things for no reason at all… i like the realism of the characters too… good job Bobby and Eisu… ^_^v

  66. FreeSample Says:

I was expecting for this to happen, haha! Comic’s doin fine! good job you guys!

  67. Mike Zebrowski Says:

“I really hope the characters sit and talk more about this because it’s just still too unbelievable right now.”

You are assuming that humans are rational creatures that make logical, well-informed choices.

There was a study (or was it a book, I forget) a few years back that found that a suprisingly large percentage of women did not have any idea of what they wanted in a husband, even after they were married! These women had ever other detail of their married life planned out, from the wedding to the honeymoon to the number of kids they would have to the house they lived in to the types of cars that each person would drive. They left the husband as a space holder.

  68. Johnny Says:

    Watch Guy blackmail her.

“Do *insert random sexual act here* right now or I’m calling it off.”

  69. Kris Says:

Perfect page from every aspect. And it’s even better because it’s the final page to the first collection.
    It just screams awesomeness.

  70. Bert Says:

wow she’s saying all that and she can’t even remember his name, wonder if the marriage would last and they grow old together

  71. Tall T Says:

The final page of the first collection? So we’re going for the traditional comic book format, then. For some reason, I think this story would look better in a digest. But I’ll buy the print comic anyway, provided it can be shipped overseas.

Oh, and this is a wonderfully funny page. Thanks, guys!

  72. John Says:

I really hope you continue… I’ve been checking back every other day waiting for a new page!

  73. Nohra Says:

Beautiful work mate, I love it . I read all of it in my class lecture today..and it is finals week ……

  74. Gav Says:

Just to say I’m liking what I’m reading. Well done.

  75. Bobby Crosby Says:

Just to let you know, Eisu recently moved and is without internet access, but should get it pretty soon. There won’t be an update today, though, and probably not on Monday either. Thanks for your patience.

  76. Valerie Says:

“Just to let you know, Eisu recently moved and is without internet access…”

    *GASP* Oh noes!!

“…but should get it pretty soon.”

Oh, okay. Life is good again. XD

Thanks for the heads up, Bobby sir!

  77. Dr. Jello Says:

Maybe just my opinion…but rather than Guy looking like his jaw is dropping, he looks more like he’s about to yell something profane. Maybe it’s his eyes…

So I saw Spiderman 3. It rocked.

And I loooooove Parker’s face in the last panel…a sort of “crappit, can’t believe she just said that…”

  78. David Kastrup Says:

    Johnny Said:

    Watch Guy blackmail her.

“Do *insert random sexual act here* right now or I’m calling it off.”

He would not try this more than once. She’d go at it hammer and tongs, deflating him in the process. Bad for his already low self-conscience.

Daring Stasia about exercises she has no experience in is more likely than not going to have both end up in plasters, anyway.

  79. Valerie Says:

Dr. Jello, me and some other person thought the same thing about Guy’s face! I think we’re in the minority, though.

And David, I’m pretty sure Johnny was just joking. You have to admit that it’s sort of a funny scenario.

“Hey, I’m gonna ruin your image unless you *bleeeeep*”
“…You don’t have much power over me, y’know.”
    “Wanna bet?”
“Wanna sleep on the couch tonight?”
    “…No, ma’am. I’m sorry ma’am.”

Like a real married couple. XD

  80. Andy Says:

Same here. Didn’t look as jaw-droppy as it looked “fucking a”-ish

  81. abe Says:

HILARY DUFF SHOULD PLAY THE PART OF STASIA SHE’S AMAZING.

  82. Valerie Says:

And that brings our count up to four people!! We will overthrow the Guy-is-surprised-people!! MWAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA!…HA!

(Oh, P.S., Happy Derby and Cinco de Mayo!)

  83. Valerie Says:

Nah, abe, I don’t think Hilary Duff would fit. The personalities seem too different to me.

  84. Miki Koshikawa Says:

OMG. I love this comic its totally insane. I wish real life was like that. T.T :)

  85. absolutirony Says:

I also think Guy looks royally irritated and is about to yell something about how his name is Guy and that’s not exactly the world’s hardest name to remember. In my head right now it goes something like “Every time you wonder ‘what’s that guy’s name again?’ you’re on the right track.” Even if he pronounces it differently it still works.

Oh I really hope we see his spine in the following pages and he just doesn’t let things happen to him.

  86. Mewt Says:

Stasia needs to be someone with a very pronounced, sharp chin. :O

  87. Valerie Says:

YESSSS!! We’re up to five people!! X3

“Every time you wonder ‘what’s that guy’s name again?’ you’re on the right track.”

    Niiiiiiice. XD *High-fives*

“Stasia needs to be someone with a very pronounced, sharp chin. :O”

Maybe… And high cheek bones. It needs to someone who’s a mix between pretty and cute, too, ’cause Stasia’s not one or the other. She seems like both.

  88. Luna Astaer Says:

Alright! this series looks great! I get the feeling that it’s just going to keep getting better. Keep up the good work!!!

  89. whomyra Says:

    ~updates!!we need updates!!~
    addicted to marry me!;)
    ♥ MARRY ME!! ♥

  90. Bobby Crosby Says:

Might have a new page late on Monday, but Eisu still doesn’t have internet access at home (only at work), so it might not be until Wednesday. I also haven’t even gotten him the next script yet (I’m horrible), but I’m going to do that tonight!

  91. SamSilver Says:

I’m really enjoying this series so far, not least for the PACING. The story gets going right away with very little lag, and the dialogue and action feel like a movie (which Bobby obviously intends)

    One thing bugging me though…

The action so far has been pretty fast paced. If I were watching it on the big screen, I would guess that maybe 15 minutes would have passed by now. So the first 24 pages represent the first 15 percent of the movie? At this pace, the whole movie would take 160 pages, or twice what Bobby says he’s planning.

Should we expect the pace to slow down in the coming books?

  92. Bobby Crosby Says:

Wouldn’t that mean the pace would have to speed up, to finish the film’s story in 80 pages? Comic adaptations of films are often very short, cutting out a ton of stuff or breezing through long scenes, almost just seeming like a long trailer, and that will be the case with the “Marry Me” graphic novel at times. Also, it all depends on how it’s filmed and the length of the credits sequence and what’s added or removed to the story by the time they film it, but I think the first 24 pages is more like 20-25 minutes, especially if we see a full song or two, which is very possible. You have to expect each individual scene to end up being longer as well, with more lines of dialogue probably. I’ve tried to write just the bare essence of the scenes to get the main point across as quick as possible.

  93. Hannah Says:

I got married to a stranger, lets die together wee~ this is pretty funny.

  94. ZovestaDark Says:

hehe! It’s one of thsoe okay comics but still good!

  95. Rune Says:

    Dammit! I actually like this…
Also, by a sheer force of will I’ve not woken anyone up in my house…

  96. Shay Says:

Usually it is the U-Boat of common sense that sinks the Lusitania of logic. However, in this case I think it would be better to assume Stasia’s Lusitania just ran the $&#^@ U-Boat over.

  97. Max Says:

I just thought I should tell you guys that Abe specifically suggested Hillary Duff for the part of Stasia purely for the purpose of pissing me off.
Hillary Duff would destroy the movie adaptation utterly, and he knows it.

  98. Bobby Crosby Says:

I think Hilary Duff would be great for this actually.

  99. dionce Says:

i just love how she cant remember the guy she just married’s name when his name is one of the easiest names i’ve ever heard

i really just wanted to yell out “my god the guy’s name is GUY for crying out loud!”

  100. Bobby Crosby Says:

I think she was mostly wanting to hear his last name again.

  101. Alecks Says:

Superficially, Hillary Duff does highly resemble Stasia, and her singing abilities and acting skills are sufficient enough to carry a proffesional singing and acting career.

We just hate her cuz her music is absolutely generic, and her roles are forgettable (yet she gets to enjoy her position in the prefrabicated ultra-brite Disney spotlight that the mega-corp hands out to young rising stars that fit a commercially succesful mold).

And although Hillary Duff wouldn’t do the character any harm (although Stasia is a unique and wonderful character, it’s not like she’d require an Oscar nominee-grade performance), it would be such a wasted opportunity to hand the role over to someone so predictable- although dependable.

An unknown would be the best bet for the role of Stasia- and imo- the entire cast should be unkowns, or at least a part of the indie movie industry.

  102. Bobby Crosby Says:

Well my main concern is getting a movie deal in general and the best way by far to do that is to attach a big name star like Hilary Duff. I haven’t really listened to any of her music before.

  103. Valerie Says:

    Hilary’s music…

…to be nice, it isn’t the best. Like Alecks was saying, it’s pretty generic, stereotypical bubblegum pop… She has a few good songs, though. Anyway, I still don’t know if she would be able to play as Stasia… but hey, Bobby, you’re the writer, so it’s ultimately up to you.

  104. abe Says:

MAX KNOWS VERY WELL THAT I DID NOT POST THAT TO PISS HIM OFF. I TRULY LOVE HILARY DUFF.

  105. Bobby Crosby Says:

“but hey, Bobby, you’re the writer, so it’s ultimately up to you.”

LOL, tell Hollywood that. I understand your intent, but for a movie like this I doubt I’ll have any say in who stars in it! I just want a deal in general.

  106. Valerie Says:

“LOL, tell Hollywood that. I understand your intent, but for a movie like this I doubt I’ll have any say in who stars in it! I just want a deal in general.”

Wow. I’d be mad if I didn’t at least have some power over the main characters, y’know? o0 I mean, you created the characters, so you should know best who can portray them the way you want.

…Buuuuut I guess that’s why I need to learn to be more cynical. Freakin’ world, messing up everything.

  107. Bobby Crosby Says:

Yeah, the writer has practically no power when it comes to movie making, even over the script, let alone the casting. Nowadays it’s mostly just buying concepts anyway, and then they make a trillion changes to the script, often hiring several writers to re-write it. It’s very rare when the final film even closely resembles the original script. But only about 10% of scripts that are sold even get made into movies at all, with 90% staying in development hell forever, usually because they never could get a good cast or director involved in the project. If Hilary Duff (or anyone basically) ever stars in a “Marry Me” movie, I’d be an insanely happy man, because that would mean I’m rich (or close enough).

  108. Veez Says:

LOL i think Janny and Parker have something in common. Guy’s expression in panel five is like
    “OMGWTF!!”

    priceless.

An obvious, but funny statement. I would gladly contribute to the increasement of your fortune, going to see the movie at the theaters (hey, let me be optimistic!) ^^

Miss new updates. hope Eisu soon get back!

  110. Guy Says:

Heh, funny. I introduce myself as “Guy, and if you forget my name, just think of me as ‘that guy.’”

I hereby join the “Guy is irate” movement. Death to the “Guy is surprised” heathens! It’s because his eyebrows curve down in the center, not up. Don’t take it badly though Eisu, the art’s still great.

  111. Bobby Crosby Says:

Eisu’s back! Should be a new page on Thursday AND Friday!

  112. whomyra Says:

    update

  113. Bobby Crosby Says:

Some time on Thursday, not sure when. Could be 15-20 hours from now.

  114. Valerie Says:

Guy: YES!! Now we’re up to… six, right? Six! YESSS!!

Bobby sir: Eisu’s back? Awesome!! Oh, but hey, pleeeaaase don’t let the movie people change your story too much, okay? We still need Parker to be the insane-best-friend-in-love-with-Stasia that she is! And we still need Stasia to seem bipolar. XD

  115. Quarion Says:

Couple things, and sorry if im rehashing but i didn’t have time to read all the comments

1: If shetalking about dieing with someone then it’s probably going to be the last thing she does, but it’s still an AWSOME line

2: How does she plan to pull this off if she can’t even remember his name for a measley 20 min.?

3: Does this mean we are gonna hear Guy’s last name in the next page?

  116. Bobby Crosby Says:

“If shetalking about dieing with someone then it’s probably going to be the last thing she does, but it’s still an AWSOME line”

Um, that’s the joke. That’s WHY it’s an awesome line. It’s completely insane.

We won’t see Guy or Stasia in the next page. Or Parker or Janny, or anyone else who we’ve previously seen.

  117. JaMES Says:

VERRY COOL. Are you planning on self-publishing this? I’m not sure if I’ll pick up the individual issues, but I’ll deffinetly pick up the final GN collection… or the first GN collection.

  118. Valerie Says:

“We won’t see Guy or Stasia in the next page. Or Parker or Janny, or anyone else who we’ve previously seen.”

Wow. ._.; New characters on the next page? *Gasp* I bet they’re like, spies or something! >_> …I don’t have a reason for thinking that. XD But hey, new characters, cool.

  119. Bobby Crosby Says:

Eisu’s computer crashed when he was almost done coloring Page 25 and then he had to go to work before he could re-boot and re-color it, so no new page until Friday! Then we should get on a normal schedule, though, hopefully.

  120. Lawl Says:

Itll be out monday, maybe wensday! No, wait! Thursday! Oops, sorry. We meant friday!

  121. Bobby Crosby Says:

Well, we never said it would be out Monday — said maybe Monday, probably Wednesday. First time I said it would definitely be out on a certain day was for today, Thursday, but then Eisu’s computer crashed. Anyway, sorry for the long wait!

  122. Alecks Says:

rawr! the people are very, VERY displeased!!!!

  123. Jared Says:

Then people are too spoiled. If you want fresh-as-it-gets comics then you have to put up with these kinds of delays, because at times like these the folks creating the stuff don’t have an option themselves.

  124. Delta Says:

The people would probably take any uncoloered pages, we are just very courius how ist is going to continue.
FOETIF (one should be British to understand)

  125. Valerie Says:

Bobby and Eisu, don’t take what Lawl said to heart. I’m pretty sure he/she was just being jokingly sarcastic. I don’t think any of us are actually mad that the page is taking so long. I mean, you two have lives, just like everyone else, and you have bad days, just like everyone else. It’s totally understandable.

That said, I’m still looking forward to the update whenever it happens.^^ And I feel like it’s been a long time since I last said this, so, I ♥ Parker!

  126. Quarion Says:

“rawr! the people are very, VERY displeased!!!!”

I’m not displeased, I’m just anxious and bored

  127. Andy-o Says:

I do hate living in a different time-zone. The new pages usually comes up on Saturday here

  128. Eisu Says:

You know… Guy is actually BOTH surprised AND mad in the final panel… that’s what I was going for anyway… I mean, wouldn’t you be mad when someone forgets your name and she happens to be your wife and it’s the easiest name in the english speaking world?

  129. Bobby Crosby Says:

Yeah, definitely agree with Eisu. Love the expression. Lots of things going on in Guy’s mind. She also just announced that they’ll be married for life no matter what, as if he has no say in it.

  130. Giselle Says:

I love it, but I was wondering if maybe you could release the colored, but not worded version of this page. I love that last panel, as everyone else does, and thought it would make an awesome banner to post as a forum sig or on other websites to promote Marry Me. It just seems to sum up the whole comic so well. I would love to be able to show that off on my myspace or blogs. Just a suggestion. :)

  131. Christopher Howell Says:

    >.

  132. Bobby Crosby Says:

Chris, please retype your message without using the less than sign, because it cuts off everything after that on this comments system, unfortunately.

  133. DManSammy Says:

lol!! that’s great! i love the transition of expressions from the open panel to the last panel…priceless.

  134. Rice Says:

    instant

  135. Anonymousafro Says:

Funny comic,I have to check out your other ones. I could see this being a very good movie too. wish you luck

  136. Zeris Says:

Again. I’m curious as to why Bernie has time to sit around discussing pop stars.

You don’t get to sit around pretending like you’re superior when you live off the flaming wreckages of celebrities.

  137. Shayral Says:

    OH
    MY
    GOD

well i’ve been convinced… are the comics available for purchase online?
what with living in europe and all…

i love the artwork, the expressions and poses are beautiful, the style is just pure bliss, and the writing makes me laugh every damn page, so here’s to browsing the site for online purchasing links ;)

  138. Wolf Says:

    roflol

  139. chumash99 Says:

ROTFL…this is the funniest thing I’ve ever read! Stasia kicks Britney Spears’ ass! Hell, she kicks *Madonna’s* ass! Keep up the good work!

  140. Norman Says:

This seems to be a good place to drop this comment in.:
    From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common-law_marriage_in_the_United_States#Oklahoma

The criteria for a common-law marriage are: (1) “an actual and mutual agreement between the spouses to be husband and wife;” (2) “a permanent relationship;” (3) “an exclusive relationship, proved by cohabitation as man and wife;” and (4) “the parties to the marriage must hold themselves out publicly as husband and wife.” Plus, if a couple lives together for 6 months or longer.See Estate of Stinchcomb v. Stinchcomb, 674 P.2d 26, 28-29 (Okla. 1983). A bill to ban common-law marriage in Oklahoma failed to receive committee hearing and thus died in 2005. [1]

What this seems to boil down to is, if Anastasia and Guy want the marriage to be valid (points (1) and (2)), and live together as if married (3), and if the concert counts as public announcement for point (4), then they are married in the eyes of OK.

The problem comes if they decide they don’t want to be married. Prior to the six months, an annulment might be possible, but the longer they wait the more likely it is that a divorce would be required….

Not sure if she can do an American accent (or even if it would be required), but I’d like to submit for your consideration: Billie Piper (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0684877/). She seems to be qualified if all you want are looks, singing, and acting ability.

  141. Toraush Naull Says:

actually if she dose go through with this it would be the last thing she dose.
