sigh… kids these days…
September 16th, 2007 at 5:48 pm
Man I was wanting to know to…
September 16th, 2007 at 6:04 pm
They’re not but they will be.
September 16th, 2007 at 6:09 pm
oh those crazy kids…
September 16th, 2007 at 6:43 pm
That was… well… I’m ashamed to be YOUNGER than that gerneration…. -,-;
September 16th, 2007 at 6:44 pm
Do work? I must be out of date with sexual terms or something.
September 16th, 2007 at 6:50 pm
I’m not even sure what it means. Been hearing it constantly. Apparently it can mean several different things. Basically a stronger version of “Keep up the good work,” I think, sort of. But yeah, in this case it does have a sexual connotation, I think.
September 16th, 2007 at 7:10 pm
AAAAWWWWWWWW MAN.
I really wanted to know. ;_;
Either way, keep up the good work
I downloaded the wowio books, I only wish there were more to download.
September 16th, 2007 at 7:17 pm
Aw, that zany Stasia! Assif she didn’t want to know!
September 16th, 2007 at 7:19 pm
awww… 9th post…
Nice, I’m liking the suspensefulness, since it flows with the story, and not just there verbatim like others I’ve read…
September 16th, 2007 at 7:38 pm
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=do+work
September 16th, 2007 at 7:39 pm
yeah “do work” confused the hell outta me….
September 16th, 2007 at 7:46 pm
Do work, son?
September 16th, 2007 at 8:14 pm
i like it. dont know this weird “do work” saying either…
good luck with the Wowio stuff, I hope all you americans are downloading enough to make up for the rest of us.
it must take a lot of guts to not know the truth in the situation. crazy Ana
September 16th, 2007 at 9:05 pm
hell yeah, do work. d.w. son!
September 16th, 2007 at 9:09 pm
They must really be strapped for footage if they are putting college students on.
September 16th, 2007 at 9:13 pm
High school actually.
September 16th, 2007 at 9:55 pm
“That was… well… I’m ashamed to be YOUNGER than that gerneration…. -,-;”
I agree completely. Great work with the look of shock on her face. But I cant understand what that guy was even saying…
September 16th, 2007 at 9:56 pm
I’m glad I wasn’t the only one that didn’t know what the heck the kid was saying. ^_^; I must be getting old….
September 16th, 2007 at 10:33 pm
I wanted to see Stasia’s reaction to the last guy…
September 16th, 2007 at 10:52 pm
Eegads.
September 16th, 2007 at 11:52 pm
…just another reason why I’m glad I haven’t watched MTV since the 80’s.
All fears for the future aside, another good comic guys!
I keep looking forward to them and they keep on coming…
September 17th, 2007 at 12:05 am
“I’m glad I wasn’t the only one that didn’t know what the heck the kid was saying. ^_^; I must be getting old….”
Nah, not really. I’m about that age (just started college this year) and had absolutely NO clue what that was.
Thanks to Sonicandtails for the urban dictionary link, makes much more sense now O.o
This has once again reaffirmed my feelings that Ana is really just an amazing girl. I think she’s going to be my hero from now on XD
September 17th, 2007 at 2:53 am
I don’t think I’ve ever been hooked up so fast in an online comic book. Congratulations.
Oh, and this is DEFINETLY movie material. When you’re done, you should think about that.
September 17th, 2007 at 3:00 am
I’m an idiot, and had no idea you were considering this as a movie since the very beggining (hence the site address, duh). Well, at least this means you are doing something right! =P
Keep it up, this is great! As much as it is a great comic, I really want to see this in the big screen! Christopher Walken for DAD!
September 17th, 2007 at 3:14 am
Good page.
Now since Robert Jordan is dead, I’m going to go and be emo.
September 17th, 2007 at 4:16 am
I’ve never heard of ‘do work’ either, so add me to that list. I find it interesting that Ana is more worried about perception than reality. Either that, or she’s afraid the answer is ‘you’re not married’ and doesn’t want Guy to leave. But even if Ana doesn’t want to know, for whatever reason, Guy has a right to know.
September 17th, 2007 at 4:33 am
Brilliant, as always. No other comic or website update I look forward to more.
Thank you!
September 17th, 2007 at 6:56 am
Hahaha XD This guy in the last panel looks just as dumb as he probably is.
I like Guys ‘Hey, that’s Sally.’ I dunno why, I think it’s cute…
maybe the fact that he probably has over 300something pupils to give advice too and still remembers them. ^^
And Stasia’s really desperately trying to STAY married. XD
September 17th, 2007 at 8:15 am
I’m fourteen and I don’t know what the hell ‘do work’ means. Might just be an American slang term- I’m Scottish. But, judging by the reactions, maybe not…
September 17th, 2007 at 8:36 am
Oh, those crazy kids…
I guess he likes his students.
September 17th, 2007 at 9:31 am
“Do Work” = “hip” young’un equivalent of “Git ‘R Done”
September 17th, 2007 at 10:05 am
Oh god. First thought: “So we’ve been hanging with Mr Cooper?” I never really noticed his last name until now, and that was my first thought.
Yes, I know it’s a common enough name.
September 17th, 2007 at 10:30 am
not to be rude. but I hate it when cliffhangers are messed up by making the readers wait longer then they should.. I supose most writers think it will turn up the tens even higher.. for me its just… “sigh.. here we go again.”
beside that it is a good page! but only if it told if they where married or not… oh well ill wait for the next then…
September 17th, 2007 at 11:11 am
That won’t really matter because there are other things to tense up the story, you shouldn’t really care if they are really married or not, just think of it like Ana.
I have absolutely no idea what the “do work, son” meant, tho I wish I could say to myself “don’t do work”.
Do I look like Guy? (http://proxess.hi5.com)
Another great page. I was wondering, maybe when you guys get an international site like Wowio, would it be possible to have bigger scans?
September 17th, 2007 at 1:32 pm
The phrase “Do work” takes me back to physics. ::shiver::
September 17th, 2007 at 2:04 pm
Jeez, I wanted to know if she was married or not. Stasia’s being really stupid.
September 17th, 2007 at 3:07 pm
*ROFLMAO @ LAST PANEL*
The sad part is that I KNOW idiots like that, too…
Anyways, I feel bad for poor Guy…he’s just the calm port in the storm of everything that’s going on around him.
That’s probably why Stasia seems to gravitate towards him so much. *shrug* Could just be me.
Anyways, KICK ASS WORK AS ALWAYS!!!
September 17th, 2007 at 3:29 pm
lol i’m saddened to see stuff like that and its supposed to be in oklahoma.. though i guess it’ll finally dispell this redneck stereotype we have going
September 17th, 2007 at 5:20 pm
I could see the guy in the last panel as trying to throw a phrase back at Guy that Guy used on him in the past. Like, if he was counseling the Do Work kid and told him, “[Enter Name here], you have to do your work to graduate, kid.”
Kid: “Do work?”
Guy: “Yes, DO WORK.”
But, that’s just me, I suppose. XD
September 17th, 2007 at 5:35 pm
Bad news everyone, WICKEDPOWERED is now tied for first place with Marry Me. Considering the meteoric rise, it looks likely that it’ll take first place this month.
This is hardly surprising, as WICKEDPOWERED has five issues out in September, and Marry Me only has one. Sheer numbers, people…
The problem is that MARRY ME doesn’t seem to have enough content to release another issue this month; it’s just too new. Unfortunately, I just don’t see any way it’ll climb back on top…
September 17th, 2007 at 5:37 pm
The problem with the concept of the race to #1 on Wowio is that Wicked Powered has 6 volumes, and Sore Thumbs has a whopping 19 volumes, while Marry Me only has 2. I think the fact that Marry Me is leading the way is a testament to how many fans there are of this comic, since it takes far more people to achieve the same number of downloads as the bigger series!
September 17th, 2007 at 5:39 pm
LOL at Guspaz, we think alike, you and I…
September 17th, 2007 at 6:50 pm
It’s my guess that “Last Blood” will finish the month with the most days at #1. Also, Guspaz, you keep getting your numbers wrong. “WICKEDPOWERED” has been #1 for five days so far, as I say in my blog post, not six.
Also, they don’t count all the issues combined. The rankings are based on the top selling individual issue for each series. If you click on “TOP COMICS” you’ll see that “Marry Me #2″ is listed, because it sold more than “Marry Me #1.” So the fact that MM has less issues than the rest has no bearing on any of this.
September 17th, 2007 at 8:17 pm
lol.
veyr realistic. I bet if this happened in real life, they’d rush to interveiw the kids and no doubt several would jump in front of the camera
September 18th, 2007 at 2:35 am
Yeah, son!!! Sounds like someone I’d meet on Xbox Live.
September 18th, 2007 at 3:12 am
Probably was lots of loud mouthed kids there lol
September 18th, 2007 at 8:10 am
loverly page, as usual. And going through all the posts… Robert Jordan died?!? But… does that mean the series will never end?! I read 11 books and the prequel for NOTHING? Well shucks, that bites. For the Jordan family and his fans.
September 18th, 2007 at 9:10 am
OT — apparently Robert Jordan has enough text written and notes outlined that his widow and publisher can choose to finish and publish the final novel if they choose to. And I can’t imagine why they wouldn’t choose to do that, at least at some point….
September 18th, 2007 at 1:47 pm
To Eruden: Omg, I can totally see that, too!! Probably the kid’s way of ’shouting out’ LOL
September 18th, 2007 at 4:20 pm
LOLZERCAKES
September 18th, 2007 at 7:48 pm
Well, as far as that guy knows, Guy and Stasia (probably very popular with people that age, like any other “star”) are on a honeymoon. Getting married to the latest “star” could be seen as an accomplishment, but this guy is probably thinking that they’re taking a honeymoon or something. What can you say? Married people just have sex. It’s crude but the comment has good vibes.
I like the phrase “do work”, because work isn’t such a bad thing. It can be fun, it can set you apart from peers, that kind of thing. Working for other people, mostly bossy, big people, is just what’s not so fun.
September 18th, 2007 at 7:50 pm
Actually, I thought this page looked pretty rushed, despite the great amount of time spent on it… I love this comic, but today’s drawings just seem less detailed or something. Maybe Eisu’s style is changing, I don’t know. It just looks different.
Anyway, I do love the comic and I can’t wait for the next one! And yeah, I’ve already downloaded both books. ^^
September 18th, 2007 at 11:11 pm
Wow, when random dudes attack!! Poor Guy, that must be so awkward…
September 18th, 2007 at 11:17 pm
Enough of my favorite reads are doing the Wowio thing now that I am really considering actually getting it. Thing is, I’d rather Marry Me doesn’t get #1 for the requisite number of days. That just means it’s over sooner.
Now, if the prize was additional pages down the road, I’d be all over it.
September 18th, 2007 at 11:32 pm
“Now, if the prize was additional pages down the road, I’d be all over it.”
The more WOWIO downloads “Marry Me” gets, the more money we get, and the more money we get from “Marry Me,” the more likely it is that we’ll continue it. So if that’s what you want, DOWNLOAD NOW.
September 19th, 2007 at 1:28 am
Hehehe, been reading for a while neglected to comment - bad me… Love the story so far though
One interesting point of note. Statistically, Honeymoon couples spend less time in their hotel rooms than almost any other type of guest. Also, in resorts, most people doing the activities, are going to be honeymooning couples (sometimes not even together).
Strange but true - remember, people who work in hotels knows strange stuff….
September 19th, 2007 at 5:32 am
i luv the kids what’s going to happen next?
September 19th, 2007 at 6:35 am
“Actually, I thought this page looked pretty rushed, despite the great amount of time spent on it… I love this comic, but today’s drawings just seem less detailed or something. Maybe Eisu’s style is changing, I don’t know. It just looks different.”
It is rushed, good eye, but the “great amount of time spent on it” is not on the part of the art… Bobby’s busy with something now so the scripts comes in when it comes in… not to say it’s Bobby’s fault I rushed, no, I rushed because of something else, but it is rushed nontheless…
September 19th, 2007 at 10:07 am
I really wished I had not been in such a hurry to download from Wowio. If I’d waited I could have done it on a day when it wasn’t already in first place. Boo.
September 19th, 2007 at 10:10 am
wait, why is #2 so far ahead of #1? OMG people go get the first one! We could still pull through if that one goes up to the most downloaded one!
September 19th, 2007 at 1:16 pm
Oh, okay then. I still love the work, though! ^^ Keep up the good work, we’d all love to see this in movie form.
By the way, quick question… When you guys say you want this to be a movie, you do mean anime-style movie, right?
September 19th, 2007 at 1:47 pm
Heh. I find it mildy ironic that of all the crazy fans she got a pretty sane guy.
Sigh, the life of the fairy tale story.
September 19th, 2007 at 2:37 pm
Do work, son? I’m sorry, you lost me there. :-/ Must be a regional saying.
September 19th, 2007 at 3:58 pm
I just discovered this comic. and what can I say? awesome.
Also, I’d do that whole wowio thingy, but I’m here in Canukistan.
oh well
September 19th, 2007 at 7:27 pm
i wanna be on the news
September 20th, 2007 at 4:57 am
Oh, God. The “Do work, son!” totally made that for me. I still can’t quit laughing.
September 20th, 2007 at 6:08 am
Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn. I wanted to know!!!
That’s one wacky relationship they have anyways. So yeah.
I’d get the wowio thing if I could– I’m (proudly) Canadian! T_T *sob* T_T
Keep getting them guys if you can do it!!!
September 20th, 2007 at 8:59 am
Soni: Check out the previous comments. The “Do work, son!” thing has been explained a couple of times.
Bobby & Eisu: On that same issue, you two might want to put a little explanation of that expression into the Wowio version before it goes up. Just a little footnote or something so that those of us who don’t watch MTV can understand what in the world the kid is talking about.
September 20th, 2007 at 9:13 am
“By the way, quick question… When you guys say you want this to be a movie, you do mean anime-style movie, right?”
Nope, live-action… with actors and all…
September 20th, 2007 at 10:41 am
Wow. Am I the only person who DIDN’T need “Do Work, son” explained?
And I’m the terribly young age of twenty-eight.
(But, hey, I just inferred the meaning from context. I hear they don’t teach that to people anymore.)
September 20th, 2007 at 3:16 pm
“Bobby & Eisu: On that same issue, you two might want to put a little explanation of that expression into the Wowio version before it goes up. Just a little footnote or something so that those of us who don’t watch MTV can understand what in the world the kid is talking about.”
Definitely no need for that. I’m basically the target audience for “Knocked Up” and I didn’t understand at least 10% of the things said in that movie, but I still enjoyed it. It’s a pointless line that anyone can figure out the basic meaning of, which is simply supporting Guy in an obnoxious way. I wouldn’t care at all if 100% of the readers had no clue what it specifically means. I didn’t even know what it means.
September 21st, 2007 at 12:30 am
Hmm, even if we don’t make it to #1, maybe we could still get a guaranteed weekly update for all our hard work?
Eh, I can hope, can’t I?
September 21st, 2007 at 12:39 am
Well, the hard work is simply downloading free stuff that we’re giving you, but anyway, still a chance to have the most days at #1. One of my other comics, “Last Blood,” was #1 today, bringing the new total to “WICKEDPOWERED” with seven days, “Marry Me” with six, “Sore Thumbs” with five, “Lullaby” with one, and “Last Blood” with one. It’s my guess that “Last Blood” will be #1 for at least the next five days, but who knows.
September 21st, 2007 at 1:19 am
Ah, yes, extort your readers for ratings, then you’ll provide the number of comics you’re supposed to be providing anyway.
September 21st, 2007 at 1:23 am
“Ah, yes, extort your readers for ratings . . .”
Please explain to me how there’s anything wrong with giving readers free things.
“. . . then you’ll provide the number of comics you’re supposed to be providing anyway.”
Supposed to? Please explain that. Once again, we can just as easily not be putting any comics on this site at all and keep in mind that we’d make a TON MORE MONEY THAT WAY, since then the only place people could get the comic is on WOWIO. If more total idiots like you insanely complain about this situation, we will pull all the comics from this web site and make them only available on WOWIO.
September 21st, 2007 at 6:24 am
I first became interested in “Last Blood” because of the vampires, frankly. =P But the interesting and unique premise led me to wonder what your other comics might be like . . . and within a couple of pages, I was utterly hooked on “Marry Me”, in spite of having never been much of fan of the romantic comedy genre.
I think (hope) that people like Kevin are in the distinct minority here. After all the webcomics I’ve read that were never finished - and I don’t mean “never” as in “oh noes, I had to wait a week or so for an update”. I mean “never” as in, “no update for years, nor word from the artist/writer as to when it might be continued.” Personally, I’m just happy to see such an interesting and entertaining comic being completed, regardless of the occasional delay.
September 21st, 2007 at 6:36 am
Forgot to mention . . . next panel:
Guy” *lowers his head and voice with embarrassment* “. . . and that’s Gary.”
September 21st, 2007 at 8:30 am
This is the first comment I have ever made on a comic! Ususally I don’t have the guts to speak up, but I love this story so much I couldn’t resist! I really have to say that this is the most original plot I have seen in a while, and it is so fun to read. The characters are great and the art fits them quite well (from what I can tell anyway.) I find myself checking the site every single day, hoping for some kind of update…which, in retrospect, is a bit goofy. (Oh well.) I’ve rambled on long enough, thanks so much for such a great read!
September 21st, 2007 at 8:43 am
blah, blah, blah blah, blah, blah blah, blah, blah
Running the risk that you’ll go away because does the world really need more unimaginative nonsense like this? No offense…well, maybe…but you gotta be kidding yourselves if you think this has any hope of ever being picked up by Hollywood - even in a world full of unimaginative “chick flix”. GL.
September 21st, 2007 at 10:54 am
Please don’t do that.
Just because people are stupid and have nothing better to do than to complain. This comic is way to good to hide away where a lot of people cant get at it.
(I’m betting that I’m speaking for a lot of your readers when I say that.)
September 21st, 2007 at 3:39 pm
“If more total idiots like you insanely complain about this situation, we will pull all the comics from this web site and make them only available on WOWIO.”
Oh no, please don’t do that.
I understand what your motivation behind doing that would be, but if you did that then (and I know how whiny and selfish I’m sounding here) myself and all the other non-US readers of Marry Me wouldn’t be able to get it (well, not easily, anyway, and not in a manner that would generate any revenue for you).
September 21st, 2007 at 3:42 pm
By “more” I basically meant “a lot more” or “a high enough amount that I feel like the majority of people reading these comics are insanely stupid assholes like Kevin.” Doubtful that would ever happen.
September 21st, 2007 at 4:01 pm
“Doubtful that would ever happen.”
If that ever happens, change the “updates M-W-F” to “updates once every hour”.
September 21st, 2007 at 9:50 pm
soooooo,
has anyone else noticed how cute Ana was in this comic?
Preeeeetty amazing if you ask me?
As to updates, once a week is fine with me. Like other readers have pointed out, at least Bobby is updating.
and Kevin Your an ass.
September 21st, 2007 at 10:01 pm
Hehe, Stasia is so cuute. She’s like a blonde, rockstar Jess, and everyone loves Jess!
September 22nd, 2007 at 7:05 am
NOTE: WOWIO is currently only available to United States residents.
=(
September 23rd, 2007 at 2:49 am
if wowio was available outside the US it would probably make a big difference bobby and eisu. not by ratings but the income.
i say ratings wouldnt make much of a difference cause there are people outside the US that would download other comics instead of marryme although they should as it is quite a good story.
September 23rd, 2007 at 3:00 am
“if wowio was available outside the US it would probably make a big difference bobby and eisu.”
Yes, this is quite obvious, and we very badly want WOWIO to be available worldwide and look forward to that day (hopefully soon).
September 23rd, 2007 at 6:48 am
Once a week is not so bad. CDC at http://cdc.comicgen.com/ finally updated and lots of people have already noticed. and his last update was July 2006. Man I am stoked to finally get an update.
September 23rd, 2007 at 6:50 am
Hey do you would do a link exchange
September 23rd, 2007 at 12:43 pm
About the Kevin post, he’s probably just annoyed at the empty promise [yes I said it] of the “Updates MWF” at the top of the page.
Bobby, I like the comic. But really. You’re trying, I know that, but if you haven’t been able to keep up with the promise for a while, nobody’s going to fault you for taking it down until you’ve got a better hold on the schedule. >>
And since I know you’ll get angry at me for saying the above, just don’t reply angrily, hmmk? You’re in the public eye, now. Gotta get used to the controversy without making yourself look worse. :3
For Eisu, I noticed the quality slip like some others have already mentioned. Not trying to stir up any shit, but it’s been slipping since the [amazing] first few pages. :/ I hope you can notice it, so you can fix it. Me, personally, I wouldn’t mind a day or so extra time between pages for better quality. ^^;
Um, yea. I think I just sound like an idiot now. :/ I’ll end this.
September 23rd, 2007 at 2:35 pm
Comments like Dalal’s (about the MWF thing and insanely calling it a “promise” again) will also result in the comics being entirely pulled from the web site and only being on WOWIO.
Dalal, I’ve explained many many times that I will no longer allow people to waste everyone’s time pointlessly complaining about the way I say things in comments as opposed to talking about the comic. Obviously banned.
September 23rd, 2007 at 4:48 pm
Bobby, others have said similar things, but I want to reiterate that not all of us are so misguided that we think you “owe” us updates on some sort of regular schedule defined by us. Taking care of the update schedule is clearly the author/artists’ prerogative, and to demand that you and Eisu provide us with pages faster is pretty asinine. With any comic, especially one as well written and illustrated as Marry Me, I’m perfectly happy to be seeing updates any time they pop up, and I wouldn’t be so foolish as to demand more. Besides, forcing a fast paced or uncomfortable update schedule can be bad for the comic itself, I’d much rather see the pages when you guys are satisfied with them.
That said, I really like ‘Stasia’s attitude on this page. I can’t decide if it’s assuming the worst or assuming the best, but it’s very cute. Keep up the awesome work!
September 23rd, 2007 at 5:50 pm
For all those feeling old about what the idiot said at the end. Well… I’m 18, and even I have no idea what that saying means.
September 23rd, 2007 at 9:41 pm
Why is the update schedule even a concern for you, Dalal? It’s not like you are the one drawing it u.u
I’m happy with what I see. GJ and good night.
September 23rd, 2007 at 10:33 pm
WOWIO rankings after 23 days:
1. “WICKEDPOWERED” — 7 days
2. “Marry Me” — 6 days
3. “Sore Thumbs” — 5 days
4. “Last Blood” — 4 days
5. “Lullaby” — 1 day
September 24th, 2007 at 2:18 am
“For all those feeling old about what the idiot said at the end. Well… I’m 18, and even I have no idea what that saying means.”
So true turning 22 in Jan its probably some random crap like get er done.
I agree with Krosa Kaine never heard of it either. But i fill we will be hearing that phrase more often then not soon. Im confused ppl are still whining about the update schedule?
“Comments like Dalal’s (about the MWF thing and insanely calling it a “promise” again) will also result in the comics being entirely pulled from the web site and only being on WOWIO.”
Dont do that bobby even as a threat. its only open to the us it would be a cut in the fanbase by a large precent. PPL are dumb nuff said shouldnt be complaining about something so lame as mwf enjoy whats out already.
September 24th, 2007 at 9:07 am
Well, I do know what “do work means” and I am way old enough to know better….hanging out with Gamers means you get all the slang.
Still, it seems like one of those phrases that is DOA, like “fer shure.”
Oh well, great work as ever BC, and don’t let the bastids get you down!
September 24th, 2007 at 10:25 am
Most authors would kill for fans as rabid as yours, Bobby. Paraphrasing Scott Kurtz here, yeah, they’re annoying and rude and pretty much party crashers, but they’re loyal, and they want to give me money, and they generate revenue through ad power, so… Let ‘em loose. They can only make you mad if you let them.
It’s like you seem upset that people want MORE out of you. I don’t understand that.
September 24th, 2007 at 1:04 pm
Bobby, can we have a “NOW DAILY!” banner?
September 24th, 2007 at 1:57 pm
“Supposed to? Please explain that. Once again, we can just as easily not be putting any comics on this site at all and keep in mind that we’d make a TON MORE MONEY THAT WAY, since then the only place people could get the comic is on WOWIO. If more total idiots like you insanely complain about this situation, we will pull all the comics from this web site and make them only available on WOWIO.”
Not to critisize you here, but you’re wrong on that point. if they weren’t available on this site, you’d get less exposure, and have no way of building interest.
Now, that said, I do agree with your basic premise, which is to say that you’re hardly /obligated/ to do anything.
September 24th, 2007 at 2:51 pm
Anyone who in any way ever quotes Scott Kurtz as a source of intelligence on any of my sites will be instantly banned, and obviously Nate is banned for again wasting all our time criticizing the way I say things in the comments pointlessly instead of just talking about the comics.
“It’s like you seem upset that people want MORE out of you.”
This makes no fucking sense on any level. People are calling me a LIAR and saying that I’m EXTORTING MONEY FROM ALL OF YOU. Don’t insanely lie and make it sound like all they did was ask for more comics. I hate fucking morons like you. Of course you’d quote Kurtz. Keep in mind that Kurtz actually MAKES TONS OF MONEY from his readers, so of course he has that luxury to not care what people say, but he’s also obviously lying when he says that. His main goal in life is to make sure that no one but himself and his friends make any money in comics and he’ll lie and cheat in any way he can to do this. I’ve yet to make any money off of “Marry Me” — still at a loss — although once we get our first check from WOWIO we’ll have made a decent profit.
“Not to critisize you here, but you’re wrong on that point.”
No, I’m most definitely not in any conceivable way.
“if they weren’t available on this site, you’d get less exposure, and have no way of building interest.”
Total nonsense. We’ve been strongly promoting WOWIO downloads on this site for exactly one month now, since the first issue went up, and in that time over 100,000 different people have visited this site. An educated guess based on many stats says that less than 1,000 of them have downloaded any issues. The majority of downloads have come from other sources than this site, like the small amount of advertising we’ve done and mostly just from people browsing WOWIO and especially browsing the top 10 list on WOWIO. Either way, though, you say we’d have no way of building interest??? Have you ever heard of advertising? At least one book which is a top 10 mainstay on WOWIO has hardly any readers at all on their actual site (I can’t even find the site right now after five minutes of Google searching, so they might have even taken it down) and yet they get a lot of downloads from doing lots of advertising. The reason “Last Blood” has been #1 for the past four days is because we have an ad running on “Misfile,” which is the same reason why “WICKEDPOWERED” was #1 all of last week, and it’s extremely profitable to do such advertisements. Keep in mind, though, that just like with regular readers of this site, the people who find the comic through those ads can always just search for “Marry Me” and come to this site and choose to read it for free here as opposed to reading it for free on WOWIO where you have to deal with signing up for something and possibly using a credit card. People only go through things like that if they badly want to, which is the sole reason for the WOWIO-exclusive content, like the sketch of Parker kissing Stasia, to increase the percentage of visitors of this site who will sign up and download the books.
If the comics were no longer available on this site, my guess is that at least 25,000 more people in the next year would download the issues on WOWIO than otherwise would have just chose to read them on here. By the end of that one-year period we’ll probably have at least five issues on WOWIO, and at 50 cents each, that’s $2.50 per person. The five issues won’t be up for the whole year, though, so let’s say an average of having 3.5 issues up in that time, which is $1.75 per person, times 25,000 equals $43,750 more that we would have made if we didn’t have the comics available for free online. It’s basically insane not to do it, but it would royally suck for the foreign readers and we’re on pace to make so much money anyway from WOWIO that we can live with it at the moment, but if you guys give me enough excuses, there’s definitely a chance that I’ll just shut this site down.
Also, to those of you complaining about a lack of updates, I hope you realize that more than anyone else in the world I’m the one who badly wants more pages. If there were 20 issues of “Marry Me” on WOWIO right now, I’d probably be a millionaire a year from today. In recent weeks I’ve been preoccupied with negotiations for a “Last Blood” film deal and some other stuff, so it’s been my fault much more than Eisu’s about the lack of pages, but he’s still a very busy guy and even if he had 25 script pages right now it’s doubtful those 25 pages would be done by the end of the year, so there isn’t a big rush on my part. If we make enough from WOWIO, though, Eisu can very possibly quit some of his other duties and work full time on making comics like this, and then we’d update at least three days per week probably. If you want more pages in general (continuing on past the film’s story) and if you want faster pages, and of course if you’re in America, download the books on WOWIO right now. It costs you nothing and gives us tons of money.
September 24th, 2007 at 5:39 pm
More than ads, I think word of mouth is the most important thing here. I got here from Scott Dewitt’s Fanboys and since then I’ve made 3 people get hooked up by Marry Me.
September 24th, 2007 at 5:56 pm
People also spread word of mouth to the comics directly on WOWIO, though. I’ve seen many links going to specific WOWIO issues where the person linking had no idea the comics were available any place other than WOWIO.
September 24th, 2007 at 9:48 pm
I’m amazed and dissapointed in humanity that some people actually complain about this website. As can be said for anything you slack-jawed morons complain about being offensive on the internet, JUST DONT LOOK AT IT. No one is MAKING you read this comic, or write pointless bitchy responses to it.
Good grief. Do the world a favor, and remove yourself from the gene pool.(getting a life is also an option)

Wow… this is quite the heated blog.
Just wanted to say that the comic is great!
September 25th, 2007 at 3:50 am
If that ever happens, change the “updates M-W-F” to “updates once every hour”.
Oh god, PLEASE do it. It’d make me laugh so much…
I really can’t believe people are still going on about this.
Anyway! FANTASTIC comic, as always. This is such a good story, and I’m really looking forward to seeing it as a movie. I can already picture it.
You have already made so many good jokes, it’s going great! I myself hope to do this sort of thing one day.
I think I might go take a look at Last Blood now - it sounds interesting.
I curse the fact that I can’t lend you a hand and download this on WOWIO..
Still, what I can do is tell my friends about it, right?
Yep!
September 25th, 2007 at 6:19 am
I think still is just because like half the people that are finally driven to post for the first time are going to post about that.

I am from Oklahoma, and I’m not sure if it is a regional thing or not. If it is, a lot of us don’t know it!
However, I was at the University football game on saturday and some people had papers that spelled out “Do Work”
I had no idea what it meant at the time but now, in this context and everything it makes a lot more sense.
However, it was funny at the time because I’m in Color Guard, and we call our flag routines “work” and I thought it was somone encouraging us to do our routines well.
o well! It makes sense now!
September 25th, 2007 at 7:27 am
I can just hear that kid in my mind, clear as if he were standing right beside me…”Yeah, Mr. Cooper! Do work, son!”
Priceless!
September 25th, 2007 at 12:07 pm
Mr. Crosby don’t worry about those few people who make rude remarks about your work or updating schedule. They are a tiny minority. For the most part everyone loves your work!
Do work Mr. Crosby!
September 25th, 2007 at 6:26 pm
I agree with Jandê. I checked this comic out through word of mouth from Fanboys (which ironically, I also got to through word of mouth.) It’s an extremely powerful tool, indeed.
I honestly don’t mind when the updates come, as long as the entire series as a whole never stops completely.
As on-topic as possible, this is a very original and entertaining storyline. Thanks to both of you on the 45 pages so far and for the 35 or so to come. The art and storyline are both amazing in their own regards.
September 25th, 2007 at 8:38 pm
this is a wonderful comic. I don’t know where people get off complaining about anything, but that’s just me, I’m just happy you decided to share your story with us… I have a question for ya, if we download the comic from wowio more than once, do you get multiple payments for it? or is it only once per person? (I apologize if this has been asked, I looked, but didn’t see it)
September 25th, 2007 at 8:53 pm
Poo.
Wish I could help ya fund your comics, but I’m short on cash to donate, and I’m not in America.
September 25th, 2007 at 11:34 pm
I guarantee you I would not have downloaded from WOWIO if I hadn’t run across this site. Actually, I read every page through 44 *before* I downloaded. I downloaded the PDFs for two reasons:
1) I like donating to comics I read, but can’t afford to donate as much as I like; downloading the PDFs is basically a free donation.
2) When I re-read a comic (I’m an archive junkie), a PDF is more convenient than a website, so the PDFs are nice to have.
I have no idea how typical my case is, but I thought you might be interested. One of those dollars is because of me, after all.
September 26th, 2007 at 12:05 am
Tory: Downloading multiple times does no good — one each is all you need.
Pope: I fully realize that a large number of people who found out about WOWIO from this site have downloaded the books, as I already stated. The problem is that less than 1% of the visitors of this site have downloaded the books. If the comics were removed from this site, I’m guessing that number would shoot up to at least 15%, since WOWIO would now be the only place they could read the comics.
September 26th, 2007 at 4:35 am
Bummer. That means I’ve done all I can do. Maybe I’ll talk my brother into downloading to.
P.S. When might we expect your next update?
September 26th, 2007 at 4:37 am
Haven’t even written it yet, but I will within 24 hours, then it will probably be up within 2-4 days after that. Saturday or Sunday is a good guess.

Ditto that for me. I DLed the comic off of WOWIO because of the web site. I’m glad to do what little I can to support the comic, but if you took down the web site you’d lose my support. Without the web site the only way you’d ever get me back to DL another issue would be to put my name on a mailing list to notify me whenever a new issue was available. There’s no way I’d keep checking back without knowing when the next issue was up. I’d just say screw it and strike Marry Me off my reading list. It’s a great comic, don’t get me wrong, but there’s something to be said for knowing when there’s something new to be read and I just can’t see myself waiting months between issues.
September 26th, 2007 at 1:54 pm
“Without the web site the only way you’d ever get me back to DL another issue would be to put my name on a mailing list to notify me whenever a new issue was available.”
Obviously the site would stay up, but it would just be a big ad for the WOWIO books basically. The comics would be removed. The readership has increased in the past month with only a couple new pages going up, so I’m sure people would keep coming back for quite a while.
Keep in mind that there was no need to even put the comics online in the first place. We started this with no thoughts of an online site — it was entirely just about making the graphic novel and printing/publishing that and using that to help get a movie deal. A total afterthought was the decision to put the comic pages online while we were making them, and at the time we thought we could put up three pages per week for sure, but unexpected things came up and we’ve been unable to for a while. So many of you got SO PISSED OFF at this and acted in such a sickening manner about it, that I decided not to change the sign partly just to piss those morons off and not give in to anything they’d possibly want. But also because it’s just pointless in general and doesn’t matter in any way except to total idiot assholes, and because at any time we could switch back to three comics per week. Shortly after we get our first WOWIO check there’s a very good chance that “Marry Me” will start running at least three times per week and then we’d just have to change the pointless sign back again. Once again, DON’T WORRY ABOUT IT. Visit the site once a month or never if it’s that big of a problem for you.
So anyway, the initial plan was for it only to be a printed graphic novel and that the only way any of you could read it was to buy that thing for like $15 or whatever it would cost. NOW the WORST CASE SCENARIO is that you MIGHT have to download the WOWIO books for FREE and read them there for free instead of here for free, and people somehow still complain about that even. And it’s not like foreigners would be totally screwed — they’d still have the option to wait and buy the graphic novel when it’s done obviously, and it’s not like it’s all that hard to get something off the internet if they really wanted to. There are torrents of “Last Blood” issues up all over the place, including the specific ones that are on WOWIO.
September 26th, 2007 at 6:20 pm
As a US WOWIO subcriber, the website would still be helpful in either scenario for the RSS feed. As long as I can subtly check the status of the feed as I’m doing my general browsing, I’m fine with whatever decision you guys make.
The “worst case scenario” seems like a tough deal though for foreigners, but it would be great if the RSS feed continues to be updated.
Regardless, thanks for the work on what pages you have done now.
September 26th, 2007 at 7:11 pm
It’s a shame that people are complaining over the lack of updates. This is a great comic that I found somehow. Can’t remember how, curse ths memory. Either way, I’ve been hooked on this. You and Eisu are doing a fantastic job, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
September 26th, 2007 at 7:15 pm
Love the comic, I knew guys like the one in the last panel in high school…
I like the webcomic format, but whatever you do with the comic I’ll still read it.
September 26th, 2007 at 7:25 pm
I noticed that you had 2 RSS feeds at the bottom of your page. Are they for the comic, or for something else?
The thing is, for some reason, the feed wants to open in my outlook. I don’t know how to access the feed from outlook (don’t use it that much) and was wondering if it could work with IE 7.
Just wondering that’s all. Not a big deal, but it would be nice.
September 26th, 2007 at 7:44 pm
actually, the worst case scenario is that you limit your reader base to be U.S. Only.
just sayin’

Hey bobby ^_^ one of your Loyal fans of Last Blood love all your work and i agree with you. On the fact that you would be making more money by taking it off of this free site I’ve downloaded all of your issues on all of your comics all though the Loop laser is irritating XD (I understand why you did it though) might confuse a few but i know you understand, but to get to my point. I looked for one of your competing comics on a site because i read a short description of it and was interested and since i couldn’t download any more for that day from Wowio. I found a site for it but they only tease you with about half the pages of the first issue leaving you with a taste in your mouth but not enough to satisfy which is why i am now downloading it. My point being if you did something like that you would get just as many people if not more downloading it. So People bitching don’t be stupid and ruin it for the people outside of the U.S.
September 27th, 2007 at 11:43 pm
“all though the Loop laser is irritating XD (I understand why you did it though)”
I have nothing to do with “WICKEDPOWERED.” My brother writes it and Owen Gieni (”Last Blood” artist) draws it.
“I looked for one of your competing comics”
Just want to point out that there isn’t actually any competition on WOWIO — I want everyone to get tons of downloads because that means they’re bringing more people into WOWIO who might also download my books. As long as we get the same number of downloads, it doesn’t matter if we’re #10 or #1 or #1,000, although being in the top 10 generates some interest (and more downloads) and so does being #1 and having that picture there of the cover of that issue. We encourage everyone to join WOWIO and put their books on there. The bigger the site is, the more money we all make.
“My point being if you did something like that you would get just as many people if not more downloading it.”
It’s a fact that we’d get a trillion more people downloading if we did something like that, yes. Going to wait until we get the first check (mid-November probably) before making a decision on that.
September 27th, 2007 at 11:57 pm
*sigh* Bobby i guess you’ll just call me an asshole too. I love the comic. I am Canadian and i have to say that the people you keep calling assholes have a point. it’s you guys that have the note up saying the comic is updated every M-W-F not us. We’d love to see you keep up the schedule but understand it’s not always possible. then you go and say hey we’ll follow our own schedule if you guys download our stuff on wowio so we can make money. it does make you sound like an ass too I’d gladly download your free stuff if it was available in Canada and I would love to see you follow the M-W-F schedule ALL the time not just because we download from wowio if that makes me an asshole so be it. i’m sorry that you feel that way.
September 28th, 2007 at 12:19 am
You didn’t act like an asshole, so it doesn’t make you an asshole — it just makes you a stupid little baby who whines about pointless things that you shouldn’t somehow feel the right to complain about. Who the hell cares if there’s a sign that says MWF? It obviously takes less than three days for someone to find out that that’s wrong and then the proper reaction would be, “Ugh, that sucks, I wanted to see a new page today and thought I’d get to, but oh well, no big deal.” Anyone who gets so upset by it that they feel the need to whine about it in the comments is very stupid and has some mental problems. Also, can none of you whiners actually see the dates of each page at the top of each blog post or can none of you see the calendar on the right up there which very clearly shows when each page has gone up in the past? You know right away from a very simple check of either of those things that the pages do not go up every MWF. It’s a very simple and obvious fact about the web site that takes two seconds for anyone to figure out. Again, who the fuck cares what that sign up there says? What does it possibly matter to you and why do you somehow feel like you’re owed anything in this situation? For the 50,000th time, we thought we could do it MWF from the start and until it was done, but that turned out to not be the case, and it’s not even worth taking two minutes to change the fucking thing — that’s how pointless it is to anyone who actually has a brain.
“I would love to see you follow the M-W-F schedule ALL the time not just because we download from wowio”
What’s your conceivable problem with that? It’s yet another very simple thing to figure out. If the challenge was met and “Marry Me” was #1 the most days on WOWIO in September, that would pretty clearly mean that we’d be making so much money from WOWIO that Eisu would be able to concentrate a lot more effort on “Marry Me” and would be able to meet the MWF schedule, because he’d be making tons of money off this comic now. As it stands now, that will probably happen in the near future, since it’s still doing extremely well on WOWIO, even though it looks like it’s not going to end the month with the most days at #1 (still has a chance, though). I don’t understand why anyone would complain about giving them the chance to get a lot more pages in October than they probably would have otherwise and all they have to do is download a free thing with free bonus features and free new Eisu artwork to get it. How the fuck does someone complain about that unless they’re just too stupid to live or just love whining about anything and everything they possibly can because they want to annoy people for no reason?
September 28th, 2007 at 12:49 am
Cool it! Cool it! Cool it!
Everybody should calm down. We all know the site doesn’t currently update MWF. We know under what conditions the authors are offering to do so. Also, we now know what quite a number of people think about that, as well as what the authors think about those people.
So, can everybody stop with the fireslinging? Please?
September 28th, 2007 at 12:52 am
Stop telling us to calm down. Really annoying.
September 28th, 2007 at 1:53 am
I have nothing to do with “WICKEDPOWERED.” My brother writes it and Owen Gieni (”Last Blood” artist) draws it.
Well sorry about that Bobby it said he co-wrote it so kinda assumed but then again i guess made myself an ass. XD
It’s a fact that we’d get a trillion more people downloading if we did something like that, yes. Going to wait until we get the first check (mid-November probably) before making a decision on that.
Well i can’t wait for that either way i’ll get to see a lot more of this comic and I love this comic, So Good luck with the Wowio ratings and decision making.
September 28th, 2007 at 1:57 am
“i guess made myself an ass. XD”
It’s an easy mistake to make — no problem.
September 28th, 2007 at 10:25 am
Hey Bobby, just a quick question: does being mean to you fans increase interest in this site or some such?
It just seems like a bad business plan to go around alienating your fans.
September 28th, 2007 at 10:46 am
Just wanted to let you know I reread the entire comic tonight, and I still think it’s brilliant.
First time poster but a reader since the very beginning; this is such a fun comic. I really appreciate all the hard work you guys put in to make it happen.
Thank you very much. xxx

Life the lemon.
Shut up.
Now, Dont piss him off again.
Do you people have to show up on every new page?
Damn why can’t you people just grow some nuts and live with what you’ve got?
Do you Have to attack everyone who doesn’t do everything the exact same way you do?
So just stop now before you make an ass of yourself.
September 28th, 2007 at 11:41 am
Lemon are you a dumb fuck? People are insulting him and you expect him to sit back and be like its ok because they download the comic for free and read it here for free. In all truth I love his comments even the mean ones i find hilarious because he only is mean where it is deserved. We are his fans we are not his friends or his bosses he owes us nothing And yet still he is one of the most Vocal Web comic creators i’ve ever seen, go to any other comic the artist and writer are no where near as active in the forums and comments as him i think that is more than we should expect. By the way read through all the comments not just the ones with the shiny blue names might see why he is mean at times. XD
September 28th, 2007 at 11:54 am
Dunno what in the world WOWIO is, but if downloading something or other from it will get more posts or have some other positive effect on this webcomic that I get free of charge and is totally a privilege and not a right (and whatever else I can say to avoid bugging the heck outta anyone), I’d sure like details. Forgive me if that makes me lazy, but I only have a computer at work and don’t have time to search through all the comments trying to figure out what and where this WOWIO thing is.
Info please? Anyone?
September 28th, 2007 at 12:20 pm
“It just seems like a bad business plan to go around alienating your fans.”
It’s pretty funny to call anyone I’ve alienated a “fan.” I only alienate the brain dead assholes who certainly would never buy anything even if I was the nicest person in the world to them while they whine and complain about pointless things that they know nothing about.
(The next couple quotes are from someone named contrario, who had a long post, and I approved it, but now it’s disappeared and I don’t know why — didn’t delete it.)
“Then there are others, who happen to have expectations and happen to know the sense of the word ‘promise’ and have the gutts to talk.”
Oh, another idiot who thinks that having a sign up there that says “NEW PAGE EVERY M-W-F” somehow falls under the definition of “promise,” even when all they have to do is take two seconds to look down at the calendar or simply look at the date of each comic as they read through the archives to know that that the MWF sign is an error. Or read basically ANY comments page to see where I have to explain this crap over and over again. And please explain how it takes “guts” to lie about me like that.
” ‘If you want some of my comic, come live in the US’, says Bob Crosby, ‘and pay for God’s sake, ‘couse we’re only doing this for money, ain’t we cool’, says Bob, with grin on his face.”
Please tell me that you’ve sent this same letter to Stan Lee and everyone who else who works in print comics who doesn’t put them online for free and actually forces people to pay for them in order to read them. Except I’m even “nicer” than Stan and all them because I’m also allowing them to be read for free on WOWIO, and as I’ve already said a trillion times, if any foreigner badly wanted to get the books on there, I’m sure they could very easily, and by the time the graphic novel’s done WOWIO will hopefully be worldwide anyway. Or of course they could always act like it’s the early ’90s again (and any time before that) and actually buy a comic book. More than 50 Europeans have already bought the first issue of “Marry Me” that we’ve printed and we barely even promoted that and all of those comics (first 24 pages) are available for free on this site (obviously) and there was never even any “threat” whatsoever about ever removing them when all of those were sold.
Viki: wowio.com

He walked into the intersection, knowing he had the right of way. He was right, dead right, but now he’s just as dead as if he were wrong.”
You’re a fine story teller, Bobby, but not much of a merchant. Wrap your head around this:
There is a guy at a computer and with a few keystrokes, he can get you half a dollar. Did you want that half dollar or not?
You can win every argument. You can be right every time. You have every right to express yourself. It is your website. Here’s big news for you: just because you’re right doesn’t mean anybody is going to like you.
Make a decision. If you want to win arguments, stop pretending to be in business and give away the comic for free, or don’t publish it at all. If you want to be in business, stop stomping on your own d*** by arguing with people who might get you that half dollar, if they just weren’t angry with you.
I further suggest ( Not demand, of course. Just suggest ) that you delete each and every comment on this thread. Anybody can read it and many will decide that they don’t want the angry man to have another half dollar, or any angry man. That includes me, here, now, but my income doesn’t depend on this thread at all. I’m giving comments away for free.
I love your work. I downloaded both issues from WOWIO. I might suggest to other people I know that they should do the same. I want you to succeed. I generally want everyone to succeed.
So, let us both see what you want:
Piss me off, I f***ing dare you. More, I dare you to allow my challenge to go unsoothed in the sight of everyone who will read this post, or will have read it before it is deleted.

“If you want to be in business, stop stomping on your own d*** by arguing with people who might get you that half dollar”
I’ve said this before, but less than 1% of the readers of this site even read these comments and practically ALL of those people, especially the ones who would make an angry/stupid comment here like you, have already downloaded the books (if they’re in America obviously) –
“I downloaded both issues from WOWIO.”
See? Do you somehow not realize that that line of yours makes your entire comment invalid and pointless? The only people who would conceivably read all 150+ comments on this page are HUGE fans like you who have either already downloaded the books or would download them even if they hate me just for the bonus features.
“If you want to win arguments, stop pretending to be in business and give away the comic for free, or don’t publish it at all.”
No clue what your point is. Doesn’t make any sense.
“More, I dare you to allow my challenge to go unsoothed in the sight of everyone who will read this post”
No clue what that means, just as no one would have any clue what most of your comment means.

I’ve been a avid reader since I found this story and I have to say I love this update the most. Because I love Rob and Big.
I’m younger then those kids and I’m totallllllly ashamed of them. Don’t ya’ll know how to act on the tellie?
Well thanks for the awesome work! c:

I think he means He is challenging you to a duel Of angers and dares you even more not to delete his comment so all comment readers can see his Challenge. Which if he read all the Comments would see you don’t delete any of them, but thats the only part i can make heads from tails on.
((By the way i have stopped coming to this site to see if it has updated but just to see the Comments on this because they are quite entertaining XD))
September 28th, 2007 at 7:02 pm
I come here for the comments AND EVEN MORE the content! Tho sometimes the comments piss me off because they are filled with angry people using stupid arguments, like our duel master.
I here by challenge thee for a battle, in which the goal is but one! To make the most single-minded stupid remarks and get a bigger e-peen.
Rules:
-These remarks must be new and original;
-From the moment you say my comment is stupid, you are admitting that you were wrong and are now searching for a scape-goat, you have lost!
May the battles… BEGIN!
September 29th, 2007 at 7:50 am
Okay Proxess, you lost me at the word “e-peen”. What da heck is that?
Also… *replaces the “Updates M-W-F” sign with one reading “Free entertainment! Come piss off the writer in the Comments section 7 days a week!”*
^_^
September 29th, 2007 at 10:01 am
Geez Proxess, don’t you know anything? The more you call other peoples posts stupid, the bigger your e-peen must bee. The e-peen is not a measure of debating skill, its directly proportionate to how big a self-rightious ass somebody is.

Attention All: This is the (rather ugly) phenomenon known as a ‘flame war’. The only two cures are for (1) everything to cool down, or (2) everybody laying off posting, in effect FORCING it to do so (and saving their own skin from being scorched).
So, without further ado, I know when my posts aren’t wanted. Adios amigos!!
P.S: No matter WHAT everyone says, no matter HOW OFTEN it updates, no matter WHAT people think about it, this comic is (and always will be) the best.
September 29th, 2007 at 10:53 am
Wow… everyone here’s a bit of a hothead.
September 29th, 2007 at 11:11 am
actually, i usually just ignore update schedules and just check back every once in a while. Most webcomics out there start out with a dedicated schedule before stuff comes up and they just put it off or whatever, so…yea. Less problems if you just don’t pay attention to things like that.
also, it’s the writer’s site, so deal with it. it’s not like you’re going to change his mind by complaining or anything. Just roll with it.
Question: I know that earlier it was said that multiple downloads doesn’t result in multiple payments, but does it still count towards the top downloaded count?
September 29th, 2007 at 12:11 pm
Reading on the internet has become so incredibly depressing over the last decade. I just can’t fathom how stupid people are becoming. It’s like watching evolution in reverse. And the best part is, the dumber they get, the more they think they are right and everyone else is stupid. This blog alone single-handedly proves Jon Gabriel’s Greater Internet Dickwad Theory: Normal Person + Anonymity = Total Dickwad.
So please, for the love of God, accept the fact that noone cares about your oppinions in the least bit and go back to the deformed gene pool from which you came.

You should set up a paypal donate button and ask for donations.
September 29th, 2007 at 1:03 pm
I dislike that in general, and there’s no need for it when we have WOWIO. We’re already on pace to make a large amount of money from it. Would be nice if more regular readers of this site downloaded the issues, though.
September 29th, 2007 at 3:08 pm
I shall write a comment because I think Bobby stole my cookies and Eisu stole my coffee mug. I shall start with the investigation later: I want my coffee and cookies back!
In all seriousness, now: I most definitely would download the issues if I had a Wowio account… which I don’t and won’t have anytime soon (unless they start serving other countries, heh). While that happens, I’ll wait for the next page of “Marry Me” to go up and I’ll do a fangirl squeal whenever Guy appears. xD
Alas, if I can’t support the comic that way, I’ll support it in the best way I can chug towards you. Keep it up, Bobby and Eisu; we’re rooting for you!
Also, a recommendation for those who don’t know what to do while they wait for “Marry Me” to update: go read another webcomic! There are tons of great webcomics around that you can read while you wait; hell, if you want more of Bobby, you can try “+EV” or Eisu’s “No Pink Ponies” as well! Or the fantastic “Order of the Stick” by Rich Burlew? Tons of possibilities and a way to entertain yourselves while you wait!
September 29th, 2007 at 5:48 pm
pity us people who live outside america can’t help much since we can’t download from wowio… ;_;
September 29th, 2007 at 6:31 pm
hey im a new-ish reader and not to sound rude or anyting but is there an eta on a new comic
September 29th, 2007 at 11:54 pm
Bobby: I really enjoy your comic. you have a great writing style that I enjoy reading.
Eisu: I really like the art work. I also enojoy NO Pink Ponies quite a bit.
Congrats to both of you on an excellent comic. I hope you get to make it a movie in the future. I am looking forward to when WOWIO expands to Canada so I can download the comics.
September 30th, 2007 at 7:41 am
I haven’t been a fan for long, but since I felt the need to help you guys out, I tried to make a WOWIO account and download the e-books. However, it required a non-anonymous e-mail address, which I don’t have. Maybe a ‘donate’ button for Paypal would be a good idea, for those of us who do want to contribute but can’t if the only option is WOWIO.
September 30th, 2007 at 10:33 am
Mandy: You can also sign up with a credit card, which is what I did.
September 30th, 2007 at 12:37 pm
Or you can send in a scan of some sort of ID card (driver’s license, etc.)
Finally, if you’re looking for neat stuff to read until such time as Marry Me updates again, why not try:
Ever After (http://ea.snafu-comics.com/)
The Far Reaches (http://www.thefarreaches.com/index.php)
Purgatory Tower (http://www.drunkduck.com/Purgatory_Tower/)
Girl Genius (http://www.girlgeniusonline.com/)
…or Erfworld. (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/erf0001.html)

I laughed so hard at the last line of the comic! I’ve heard that phrase a few times, all said by frat boys, so I had a good idea of what it meant in this context. I love the way the boy is drawn, and am so sad to say I know people who actually act like that. (And by “know” I mean “observe from a careful distance.”) The art doesn’t look as crisp as it usually does, but Eisu already talked about that, so let me just say that I still loved the art. It had more of a sketch-like appearance, and that fit with the atmosphere of the comic, in my opinion.
Final comments: I do not live in the US. I would download from WOWIO if I could. But I cannot, so I won’t, and will continue to appreciate how Bobby and Eisu keep this well-drawn and well-written comic at this website so I can view it. To those who cannot fathom why I’m not capslockraging about not being from the US, I have learned a beautiful thing called patience. It keeps me from looking like an impatient idiot, and keeps me satisfied. There are no local comic shops for me to buy this from, so even then I’d still say a Paypal button would be cool, but if Bobby and Eisu don’t want one, then that’s cool too. People need to respect the writer’s/artist’s decisions more and learn to deal with them.
September 30th, 2007 at 4:06 pm
It’s possible that we’ll put a PayPal button up at some point, but very doubtful, especially if we do end up making the kind of WOWIO money that we’re on pace to.
“There are no local comic shops for me to buy this from . . .”
The finished graphic novel will be available to purchase on this site (PayPal), just like the first 24 pages are currently available –

any idea when the next page will be up? i love the comic, but the lack of updates makes me sad
October 1st, 2007 at 2:14 pm
Eisu’s had the Page 46 script for four days. Assuming a new page will be up within 48 hours, but I’m not sure.

Alright first allow me to say that I have DLed the comic from WOWIE to help you guys out cuz it doesn’t cost me anything and you get money so it helps you out. As far as I’m concerned with MWF i’ve not really concerned myself about it. Do i wish that i could come here and get an update atleast once a week, yeah, but its cool, and I understand where you’re coming from.
I’ve actually thought of MWF not as monday wednesday friday, but have come up with a few alternate meanings and think that they help with not being updated when it says. things like My weekly frame, or Mice Wrestling on Friday. just crazy stuff that makes no sense that distracts from it being monday-W-F

Dibs on the part of Guy in the movie! I got film credentials from here at college, if you want them. By the way, I know I can’t call dibs on a part; I jest with y’all. Look me up if you want me!

“Do work son!”
I just took it to be something Guy would have said to his students. His student there is just throwing back that comment out of affection.
