October 28th, 2007 at 5:38 pm
First! Unless it takes too long to moderate.
That is the most loyal busdriver I’ve seen… ever
October 28th, 2007 at 5:38 pm
Yay! post! I’ve been waiting eagerly for an update. When’s the next? (we’re insatiable)
October 28th, 2007 at 5:38 pm
Ok… we now like the busdriver, don’t we!
October 28th, 2007 at 5:39 pm
First!
October 28th, 2007 at 5:40 pm
kidding
October 28th, 2007 at 5:48 pm
The bus driver saves the day!
I wish I could grow facial hair. If I could, I’d grow a ’stache like that.
October 28th, 2007 at 6:09 pm
The busdriver should be Stasia’s hero, lol. ^____^ [ http://www.marrymemovie.com/main/2007/08/02/page-39/ ]
October 28th, 2007 at 6:31 pm
I hope the bus driver comes back later.
And as for the Assistant’s name, yeah, Richard sounds about right. How about “Richard K. Steinman” Or “Richard O’York”?
October 28th, 2007 at 6:32 pm
I actually said Richmond.
October 28th, 2007 at 6:32 pm
By the way: Hi I’m Trevor. Or “Tea” as no-one likes to call me.
October 28th, 2007 at 6:33 pm
*Looks up* Oh. So you did. Still, them’s my suggestions.
October 28th, 2007 at 6:40 pm
I’m confused. Which Anwar?
October 28th, 2007 at 6:41 pm
The first thing I thought of was Richmond O’Holleran. Go figure.
October 28th, 2007 at 6:52 pm
Google is not helping me find out who that is.
“Which Anwar?”
Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Maybe the assistant is this guy –
http://youtube.com/watch?v=URe9_5fvySk
October 28th, 2007 at 6:52 pm
hope he doesn’t get fired
October 28th, 2007 at 6:55 pm
Oh! Oh! Name him Winston! You would be my hero if you did.
October 28th, 2007 at 6:58 pm
He looks like a Spencer.
October 28th, 2007 at 7:00 pm
COOLEST DRIVER EVER!
October 28th, 2007 at 7:01 pm
Richard Harisfield.
October 28th, 2007 at 7:02 pm
…I believe the bus driver deserves a raise…..
I agree Richmond works with the man *nods*
Love the new page cant wait for the next.
October 28th, 2007 at 7:03 pm
The assistant should be Miles Edgeworth.
I think Stasia’s dad should definitely at least have the last name of Tyler.
October 28th, 2007 at 7:06 pm
“I think Stasia’s dad should definitely at least have the last name of Tyler.”
Confused. That is his last name obviously — CLICK TO SEE PAGE 25.
October 28th, 2007 at 7:08 pm
SETH! SethSethSethSeth! Seth~!
October 28th, 2007 at 7:12 pm
Go bus driver!
October 28th, 2007 at 7:16 pm
I think he looks like a Giles. Richmond Giles.
October 28th, 2007 at 7:16 pm
Heh, I was another one who saw Richmond and immediately went “no, he’s a Richard”.
October 28th, 2007 at 7:26 pm
I think he kinda looks like a Glen, however I also think Richard works quite well
October 28th, 2007 at 7:28 pm
I thought of Richmond because he reminds me of Richmond from “The IT Crowd,” British TV show –
http://blog.project76.tv/RichmondLarge.jpg
October 28th, 2007 at 7:35 pm
Stanley Spadowski
October 28th, 2007 at 7:41 pm
Alaska. Now I would go to Alaska. Not Africa though.
I like his assistant. Very typical, yet I’m not complaining.
October 28th, 2007 at 8:14 pm
Richmond GIles sounds cool.
Or maybe Wesley Richmond. He has a slight Wesley vibe, from here. ^_^
October 28th, 2007 at 8:14 pm
Yay for Alaskan charities?
October 28th, 2007 at 9:01 pm
Beauregard, or Euclid, or Anderson
October 28th, 2007 at 9:02 pm
Hey, I’m a long time reader, first time poster! great work! Love this comic!
Anyway, the assistant looks a it like a Desmond but I like Richmond.
How about Des Richmond…?
October 28th, 2007 at 9:12 pm
My first thought was that he had some Regal name like “Frederic Antwon III” but that everyone called him “Freddy” because he was the big man’s assistant.
October 28th, 2007 at 9:22 pm
Looks like a Drew to me
October 28th, 2007 at 9:22 pm
I love how you can very obviously see that Stasia is his daughter. Extremely animated, and Teh dramatic point!!!
I think I’d call Mr. Assistant: Julias Scranton.
October 28th, 2007 at 9:22 pm
Edger. Definitely an Edger.
October 28th, 2007 at 9:25 pm
Rock the bus driver. Oh yeah. ^____^
~Istra~
October 28th, 2007 at 9:39 pm
Richard is great, he’s a Richard type…
October 28th, 2007 at 9:45 pm
This is such a great comic. I always celebrate a little bit inside whenever it updates.
October 28th, 2007 at 9:48 pm
Roswald McDreyfus
October 28th, 2007 at 9:54 pm
I am not kidding you when i say this…
But the bus driver looks EXACTLY like my dad…baseball cap, mustache, black hair…only my dad wears glasses sometimes.
October 28th, 2007 at 10:01 pm
I
October 28th, 2007 at 10:01 pm
Wow. That’s the best bus driver ever.
October 28th, 2007 at 10:07 pm
jenson.
or henley
October 28th, 2007 at 10:24 pm
Richmond J. Boofles
October 28th, 2007 at 10:27 pm
Ramone Ramone. You have to trill the “Rrrrr”s when you say it. Well, Stacia’s dad never would - he’s not a trill-y sort of person - but everyone else would have to.
October 28th, 2007 at 10:30 pm
He seems like someone who would take him self moderatly seriously because of his name but is now forced to work as an assistant because someone squandered his family money, But he works for the “high class” only So Richard would be too low brow, Richmond is a good name,
Tobias would be a good name too.
maybe Tobias Richmond?
October 28th, 2007 at 10:31 pm
=P It also allows someone to call him Toby just to bother his seemingly High brow nature.. But that high brow thing is just a first impression.
October 28th, 2007 at 10:33 pm
w00t! New page. Love it. I would have to say the assitants name should be Richard K. Hessel. It’s always fun to use the name Dick in place of it sometimes when something goes wrong.
Great story, looking forward to what comes next.
October 28th, 2007 at 10:36 pm
Richmond is pretty spot on. Giles too, but I really like…
Archibald!
Come on, Archibald is an excellent name for a stuffy assistant.
Of course, if this is the kind of assistant who uses “deadly force” in order to assist his rich client, than maybe not…
October 28th, 2007 at 10:47 pm
Wait isn’t her charity in Africa? Or does she have two headquarters?
October 28th, 2007 at 10:51 pm
Main headquarters in Africa for everything, but she has a million charities all over the place.
October 28th, 2007 at 10:52 pm
at first l was thinking “oh crap, the driver is gonna tell him!!”
but then he saved the day and said Alaska hahaha!!!
(l actually would want to live there one day…)
l’m surprised the driver was nice enough to do that, since he was so obviously disappointed he didn’t get invited to go along.
October 28th, 2007 at 11:13 pm
He does look like a Richard, but from how everybody talkes about him, I see him as a Wilhelm.
October 28th, 2007 at 11:15 pm
He must be named Aberforth.
October 28th, 2007 at 11:22 pm
I’m thinking a Watson personally, but meh.
He doesn’t look like any Richards I’ve seen. Richmond is cool too though, hehe.
This comic just has me thinking “oh shoot someones going to be maaad” D:
October 28th, 2007 at 11:27 pm
I think he looks like a Mortimer …. I mean.. seriously, Mortimer O’Loughlin
October 28th, 2007 at 11:31 pm
It’s actually ANWR, not ANWAR.
October 28th, 2007 at 11:32 pm
I reckon
Marshell… buts that’s just me. I also like Giles…whoever said that…
October 28th, 2007 at 11:38 pm
fredrick
and he LOATHES being called fred.
whic stasia does.
just to piss him off.
yeah.
-lizard
October 28th, 2007 at 11:40 pm
“It’s actually ANWR, not ANWAR.”
I know, but it’s pronounced ANWAR and I just want people to read the proper pronunciation. Most readers won’t know what the heck it is anyway. It’s a meaningless line that simply points out a possible reason for her to go to Alaska, even though she’s obviously not going there, so it doesn’t matter. Who knows, maybe it’s a charity to save some boy in Alaska named Anwar who needs help with his medical bills or something. Doesn’t matter, it will never be followed up on in the story.
October 28th, 2007 at 11:47 pm
Aww the bus driver was nice enough to cover them, even though they didn’t invite him! SOMEBODY GET THAT MAN A COOKIE. X)
This comic gets awesomer every update.
Hmm….. either Max or Richard suits him. c:
October 28th, 2007 at 11:58 pm
He definately looks like a Sebastian to me.
October 29th, 2007 at 12:12 am
Edward.
Also, Best. Bus Driver. Ever.
October 29th, 2007 at 12:36 am
Finnerdy.
October 29th, 2007 at 12:59 am
I say Percival. He looks like a Percival.
October 29th, 2007 at 1:23 am
Once everything settles down, Ana owes her driver a trip to whichever continent he would like to visit, Africa or otherwise!
Her dad is so pissed, I hope he doesn’t go into convulsions or start foaming at the mouth when he finds she is not, in fact, in Alaska… lol
October 29th, 2007 at 1:48 am
A Kevin or a Keith maybe.
October 29th, 2007 at 2:32 am
lawls, Anwar… for a second i thought you were referring to a Malaysian ex-politician.
how about Jonas Richmond?
October 29th, 2007 at 3:11 am
That was awsome!
How about Wally? Thats sounds pretty good to me.
October 29th, 2007 at 3:26 am
Richmond DEFINATELY works.
But I think he needs a posh British surname, like, uh… Well, I can’t think of any right now. ^^; But I really do think Richmond is fitting.
October 29th, 2007 at 3:29 am
His name has to be some odd British name. Like Cogsworth maybe. Hahah.
October 29th, 2007 at 4:28 am
Mitch. He looks like a Mitch to me
October 29th, 2007 at 4:33 am
go go Left out Busdriver,
name iders: Joe Mamma (LOL), Rickky Bobby
October 29th, 2007 at 4:38 am
I think he looks like a Vincent ^^
October 29th, 2007 at 4:42 am
I think he looks like a:
Sebastian Tightcut
Continue with the great work
October 29th, 2007 at 4:47 am
YAY BUS DRIVER!
And his assistant should be called Wesley he looks like a Wesley! Or an Edmund
October 29th, 2007 at 5:06 am
Oh, yeah, as that guy said, Sebastian. Like the Prim ministers gay assistant in little Britain! He even has similar hair!
October 29th, 2007 at 5:30 am
Gotta go with a name that’s more fitting of his seemingly bishie looks.
How about: Steven Caldwater?
October 29th, 2007 at 5:38 am
LOL the bus driver’s on their side. I like how the last guy there is drawn.
October 29th, 2007 at 6:31 am
I think the assistant should be named Isaac, he looks like an Isaac
October 29th, 2007 at 6:52 am
I’m with Sally, he looks like an Anderson. Or Andersen to make it fancier. And for a first name… hmmm, Richmond is cool, but Richard sounds better. He looks like a Stanley to me =/ or a John. Nah, Stanley. xD
Great page, love the bus driver. Keep it up, this is fun.
October 29th, 2007 at 6:53 am
Richmond Herbert Osmont Danforth III…seems like people who come from money always have other family names added to their names to preserve heritage. BTW, i love this comic and i read Last Blood as well…great work.
October 29th, 2007 at 6:54 am
I couldn’t remember his real lastname, so i just put one in.
October 29th, 2007 at 7:09 am
Sheryll. His name should be Sheryll with some kind of weird back story a la “boy named sue”.
October 29th, 2007 at 7:10 am
Let’s see… purple suit, green shirt…. who does that remind me of? Oh, yes: Albus Dumbledore. I vote Albus. Or Bubba.
> Ad Said:
> He must be named Aberforth.
Close.
October 29th, 2007 at 7:26 am
jajaja inocent xDjeje
October 29th, 2007 at 7:33 am
i think the assistant looks like a balthazar or maybe a lenny
October 29th, 2007 at 7:41 am
Redmond, great name for a throwaway type assistant. They could all be named Redmond for that matter. Heh, have him keep firing assistants and then only ever calling the replacement Redmond.
October 29th, 2007 at 7:53 am
love the new comic @ first I thought that the bus driver got confused but I think he deserves to be promoted to limo driver!!!
I think that the assistant looks like a…
Wesley Jameston
October 29th, 2007 at 8:10 am
If we are going with the perfectly awful british names for the assistant, then why not Nigel, or Cedric, or Cyril?
October 29th, 2007 at 8:20 am
I think he should be called George.
October 29th, 2007 at 8:23 am
First off, LOVE the comic!
Second, Hmm….i think the assistant is more of a “David” or a “Jonathan” just for the fact they’re very “assistant” type names and well…he looks like my ex Jonathan kinda…lol
October 29th, 2007 at 8:36 am
As much as I’d like to be able to contribute I usually come up with the name for a character as a core part of creating the personality. Without seeing more of him I can’t really say anything stand out much, other than he seems like he should have some type of stuck-up given or middle name.
October 29th, 2007 at 8:36 am
I was thinking the Malaysian ex-politico too, especially considering Eisu… xD
October 29th, 2007 at 8:38 am
Richmond, sure. But he’s also got overtones of both an obnoxious Irving and a detail-minded Clyde.
October 29th, 2007 at 8:40 am
He totally looks like an Eddy to me. I mean, can’t you see him being all *business face* and then when dear old mum, (or Stasia’s dad…) go “EDDY!!!!” hes all *completely cowed and comes running*
October 29th, 2007 at 8:56 am
I surely wouldn’t lie to THAT man.
Well, interesting anyway.
October 29th, 2007 at 8:57 am
I think the assistant looks like a Damien personally.
October 29th, 2007 at 9:00 am
The assistant looks like a “Reginold” to me, but Richmond would also be suitable. *Nods*
October 29th, 2007 at 9:20 am
Jim.
October 29th, 2007 at 9:27 am
Combined with the stache, that loyalty made him the best bus driver ever!! Love panel 6!
October 29th, 2007 at 9:36 am
Bobby,
Just to say awesome page as ever. Richmond seems to fit, but are you only taking suggestions for the assistant, or can we pitch some out for the Bus driver? I was thinking Hank…
Also, I got the comic, yay! Read it through and it’s already in my sisters devious hands. Thanks a bunch
Bish
October 29th, 2007 at 9:45 am
For some reason he reminds me of Owen from Gargoyles in the first panel. Owen Richmond maybe?
October 29th, 2007 at 10:06 am
I think the busdriver looks like a Davis. Davis Hornbeck.
However, I’d love it if you named him after my wife’s pet ball python. His name is E. Howard “Howie” Farnsworth.
Yes, I’m aware that that is a stupid name for a snake. Yes, that’s why I told her to name him that.
October 29th, 2007 at 10:09 am
Horatio, Horace, Edward, Giles.
Richmond works though.
October 29th, 2007 at 10:24 am
That bus driver is AWESOME!! And I love how he uses a place that sounds similar to Africa so that he can be all “oh, I must’ve misheard” when Mr. Tyler comes back to kill him.
October 29th, 2007 at 11:06 am
Coolest busdriver ever.
October 29th, 2007 at 11:27 am
hmmm…..her dad is really controlling…
I’d say Nicholas or Romanov, cause he was the last tsar of russia(ie controlling) and he had a daughter named anastasia(ie stasia)
October 29th, 2007 at 11:28 am
you are an horrid and cruel woman if you ask this Aimo
Every man selling his champagne collection for the honur to marry you
October 29th, 2007 at 11:30 am
Is the bus driver mocking/trying to be as tough as the dad when he says ‘It certainly is?”
October 29th, 2007 at 11:45 am
Elmont. Elmont Pinkham.
October 29th, 2007 at 11:47 am
His name should be Chives. Donald Chives.
October 29th, 2007 at 12:13 pm
Yay for the bus driver! I looked at the assistant and thought Jin from Samurai Champloo.
October 29th, 2007 at 12:37 pm
I think he looks like a Matt… or maybe a Galen.
October 29th, 2007 at 12:46 pm
The assistant looks like a Mathew to me. Not Matt. Mathew. And he looks British to me.
October 29th, 2007 at 12:50 pm
I’m thinking him a Stanton…. Or Spencer. Or something that starts with ‘S’.
October 29th, 2007 at 1:09 pm
Name him Rupert Greyson.
October 29th, 2007 at 1:29 pm
NINJA READER SAYS WILLIAM.
Great comic thus far.
October 29th, 2007 at 1:44 pm
Quentin.
Clive.
October 29th, 2007 at 1:52 pm
Remington Davinport.
’nuff said
October 29th, 2007 at 1:58 pm
If a guy like her father came up to me with his overpowering attitude, I would lie too. Stasia is nice to him, even if she didn’t invite him to Africa. Her father drives up to him and starts demanding stuff. Who would you be loyal to?
The assistant looks like a Winston, Reginald…or maybe a Ryan to me
October 29th, 2007 at 2:07 pm
I like RIchmond, but then he should have a first-name last name, like Fredrick or Peters, so people can mix them up (on purpose to make him mad?)
October 29th, 2007 at 2:23 pm
Winston!!! Name him Winston!!! Winston O’Riley!!!! He dosen’t look Scotish, but that dosen’t matter!!!!
Winston O’Riley 4-EVA!!!!!!
October 29th, 2007 at 2:32 pm
Fredericks
October 29th, 2007 at 2:42 pm
Edmond
October 29th, 2007 at 3:01 pm
The assistant looks clever and Simon has always sounded like a clever name to be.
October 29th, 2007 at 3:16 pm
Irving!
October 29th, 2007 at 3:39 pm
Oh man, Blozor beat me to it. Miles! His name is Miles!
October 29th, 2007 at 4:05 pm
I think it should be Richard Miles.
Everybody loves busdrivers. They’re the greastest.
October 29th, 2007 at 4:10 pm
A Thomson…=D
October 29th, 2007 at 4:14 pm
He’s definitely a Derrick. Plus, they should have taken the stalwart, loyal bus driver with them. He’s pretty cool.
Incidentally, as Stasia is now Mrs. Guy, does she get a ring? I want an answer to this before the touchdown in Nairobi.
October 29th, 2007 at 4:23 pm
“Stasia is now Mrs. Guy”
“We don’t believe you are.”
October 29th, 2007 at 4:42 pm
“# Anonimo Veneziano Says:
October 29th, 2007 at 11:28 am
you are an horrid and cruel woman if you ask this Aimo
Every man selling his champagne collection for the honur to marry you”
I just wanna ask, “Huh?”
I mean, I have a friend named Aimo and I’m just wondering if this guy mistyped his comment to my friend in the wrong window or something.
October 29th, 2007 at 4:53 pm
First time poster. Just looking at this page makes me think that Stasia (probably unintentionally) became somewhat closely knit with all her cohorts who work behind the stage and help assist her transportation. I mean, she’s been on the road for 7 years doing tours and things, so I’m lead to believe that most of the personnel Stasia works with have been working with her for a while, especially if Parker knows the names of several of Stasia’s backstage cohorts, like the guy who pulls her wires. Excellent as always, Bobby.
I’m falling in love with Eisu’s art more and more. I wasn’t really a huge fan at first of his art style, but it grew on me. Panel 5 is definately my favorite. It’s an excellent frame and is what I expected for a pose in a comic format.
I want to call the guy who arrived with Stasia’s father “Cosworth.” Last names aren’t important right now, seeing as we don’t know Denny’s last name either. Speaking of which, I got a good laugh out of the last page at the panel of Denny, Parker, Guy, and Stasia walking towards the plane, and he absolutely dwarfs every single one of them. Not because it’s funny or anything, but how Denny’s massive height and build makes everyone else look insignificant.
Keep up the good work, guys.
Thanks for t
October 29th, 2007 at 5:02 pm
“I have a friend named Aimo and I’m just wondering if this guy mistyped his comment to my friend in the wrong window or something.”
Ha, crazy — I was also very confused by that.
Finally doing some serious work on Page 50 — writing crazy Parker dialogue!
October 29th, 2007 at 5:05 pm
HIS NAME… is Clint.
October 29th, 2007 at 5:28 pm
In the last panel he looks like a Daniel to me. But that doesn’t match the second panel. So overall I’s say he’s an Alexander (he HATES when people call him Alex, and quickly corrects them)
October 29th, 2007 at 6:00 pm
Name him Elbert. (Somebody else suggested Beauregard, which is also rather appealing.)
Elbert Morris Trumble. Or, perhaps. Elbert Trumble-Morris (whose mother, for the sake of feminism, ignored the fact that her darling son sounded like a law firm.)
October 29th, 2007 at 6:12 pm
Come on, how can you not name him Fabio…?
Father: FABIO, GET ME MY COAT! >:OOO
October 29th, 2007 at 6:33 pm
Clint… Is awesome.
October 29th, 2007 at 6:48 pm
He looks like an Alan to me… Or maybe a Trevor.
Woo, bus driver!
October 29th, 2007 at 7:06 pm
Hey! As much as we like coming up with names for the good ol’ assistant, what about our favoritist bus driver man-guy?
Fred.
No wait…
Steve.
No wait…
Bert.
No wait…
Wally.
No wait…
Carl.
No wait…
October 29th, 2007 at 7:27 pm
His name should be…get ready for it-
Mark Phillips, sir.
October 29th, 2007 at 7:33 pm
Edmond Farnsworthy - that sounds like name that could go towards many different personalities but definately fits his face. Course he does come off as a cunning brow-noser type of assistant.
And a big ol’ HOORAH for the awesome bus driver…. Jim (that sounds like a good name). And I agree that man deserves a huge cookie!
October 29th, 2007 at 8:01 pm
This comic is awesome. I’ve never felt so cool about my own name =D I’m going to insist everyone calls me Stasia from now on.
Assistant name suggestion: Percy Alberforth.
October 29th, 2007 at 8:10 pm
Seems kinda like a … Zachary, to me. Zachary (Insert English last name here)
October 29th, 2007 at 8:28 pm
He seems like an Archibold to me for some reason….
Is it just me, or does he seem to be puling stuff out of his bum?
October 29th, 2007 at 9:21 pm
I find that assistant names are best kept to a distinguished, 3 syllable first name and a short, vaguely upperclass last name that’s easily shouted by The Boss. Anderson and Jonathon are good first names for assistants. Shorter last name like Hayes are good for the last.
Dad: “Jonathon, what’s in alaska?”
Asst.: “Her Anwar charity….”
Dad: “Dammit, Hayes, I hate charities.”
Substitute other names as needed. Although, I do like Anderson…
…Anderson Hayes…
October 29th, 2007 at 10:37 pm
Yeah, that bus driver is cool, man, cool. ^_^
And Stasia’s dad looks like a Rodger. A “spelled-with-a-D” Rodger.
October 29th, 2007 at 10:47 pm
Stasia’s dad is named Joey.
October 29th, 2007 at 10:58 pm
Best. Bus driver. EVER.
October 29th, 2007 at 11:02 pm
Private Boinge 747, now that is extravagant!!!!
October 29th, 2007 at 11:25 pm
If there’s two things I’ve learned about life, it’s:
1) taxes suck,
and
2) that guy’s name is Nathan, Ethan, or Vince (Vincent).
October 29th, 2007 at 11:34 pm
last name HAS to be Davenport! it’s too good for yelling
Mr. Tyler: “DAVENPORT!!”
October 29th, 2007 at 11:37 pm
Ravenwood would be a kewl name……… “Ravenwood, order up the blackbird from NASA, I’ll be damned if I let her get away now!” sayith her Pops.
October 29th, 2007 at 11:44 pm
devon richardson perhaps? I could see that…”Richardson, get us to Alaska…NOW”
October 29th, 2007 at 11:47 pm
the assistant’s name is Phillip. I don’t think a last name would be necessary: if you had an assistant would you ever feel the need to use their last name?
I love this comic, by the way. stumbled upon it tonight (though I don’t mean StumbleUpon) and I couldn’t stop reading. I’m interested to see how the story develops… how exciting!
October 30th, 2007 at 12:00 am
I love the look on the bus driver’s face when the dad asks for confirmation.
“What. I said it was Alaska. It’s alaska. Quit bustin my balls.”
October 30th, 2007 at 12:03 am
Billy Thallus. Dunno. A lot of cool names… need a less cool one.
October 30th, 2007 at 12:30 am
I vote for Dennis Connell.
October 30th, 2007 at 1:02 am
Eh, not so much of a “Richmond” to me as he is a “Richard”. Perhaps a “Rich” might be the best, despite sounding less-than-insanely-wealthy? Richmond just doesn’t seem to have the proper rarity/commonness, to me.
October 30th, 2007 at 1:02 am
I vote for Alan or Owen on the assistant. Damn, he’s cute. I’m a sucker for illustrated men in glasses and a suit.
October 30th, 2007 at 1:26 am
I love the art in this comic. Very traditional and kind of sweet. Just right for a romance. The emotional expression is very good too.
October 30th, 2007 at 1:55 am
Man, I love the bus driver. Go him.
The first name I saw for the assistant was ‘Winston’…Hmm.
Also, the wide eyes on the driver (Can I call him Gus?) made me laugh. Very cool.
And the close up on Joey* was really good.
*Joey? xD Sweet.
October 30th, 2007 at 3:01 am
Ravenwood? Ravenholm? I better tell myself to shut up. I’ve been playing too much HL2 lately XD
October 30th, 2007 at 4:03 am
The assistant’s last name is Graves. His first name is never spoken—everyone just calls him “Graves”—but it’s probably something Euroweenie like “Claude.”
October 30th, 2007 at 5:05 am
The bus driver is nice. At least he gets a head start when Stasia’s dad comes after him.
October 30th, 2007 at 5:22 am
Richmond sounds like a name that would fit him. But honestly, the first name that came to mind was David… Though I think Stephen fits him too. -shrugs- I shall wait ever vigilant for the revealing of Stasia’s Daddy’s assistant’s name. =)
October 30th, 2007 at 6:44 am
Charles Bartholomew III. ;D
October 30th, 2007 at 6:52 am
Bus Driver, best facial expression ever. He totally rocks.
Assistance name? Leopold
October 30th, 2007 at 7:07 am
I love the strip, but I wish you guys would be honest about when you’re updating. If it’s only going to be once a week, just pick a day, so that we don’t repeatedly check and find that it hasn’t updated. It gets annoying and makes me like the strip less.
October 30th, 2007 at 8:31 am
he screams dante….
October 30th, 2007 at 8:44 am
All the fancy names here make a lot of sense to his character. Richmond, Giles, Leopold, Miles, Glenn, Claude, etc… But as Michelle said above, the first name that came in mind to me was David too. He has a David face.
I think it would be really funny if he had the name of a famous person. Like David Bowie. Or Samuel Jackson.
“Hello, I’m David Bowie.” “WHAAT?”
October 30th, 2007 at 8:53 am
Just out of curiosity (and very off-topic, my apologies), is there a specific number of pages you expect this comic to run, or is it more of a “It takes as long as it takes” sort of thing?
October 30th, 2007 at 8:56 am
Wow.
“Clint” really does rock.
October 30th, 2007 at 10:06 am
“# Jesenjin Says:
October 29th, 2007 at 11:02 pm
Private Boinge 747, now that is extravagant!!!!”
It’s not actually. a Boeing 747 would not have wings on it’s tail fin. The plane only looks big cos they didn’t fly that far away from the airport yet, meaning the dad caught em just a wee bit too late.
October 30th, 2007 at 10:08 am
Hmmm… and that line across the middle of the plane is actually a mistake that I was supposed to rub off in Photo-Shop… didn’t realise it til now, my bad.
October 30th, 2007 at 12:24 pm
The perfect name for an executive assistant is Fletcher. Since the big guy will not call him anything but one name when barking orders, you will never have to know if this is his first or last name
October 30th, 2007 at 12:33 pm
How about Myrick?
October 30th, 2007 at 12:37 pm
Montague
October 30th, 2007 at 12:46 pm
awwww what a nice bus driver
October 30th, 2007 at 1:24 pm
I like Richmond, but I really don’t like Richard as much.
Irvin would also work in my opinion.
October 30th, 2007 at 1:32 pm
Hank, definitely Hank.
October 30th, 2007 at 2:26 pm
Higgles all the way.
October 30th, 2007 at 2:27 pm
As a name, that is. I’m not suggesting that Mr assistant (or “Mr Higgles”) is higgling in any way, whatever that is.
October 30th, 2007 at 2:59 pm
Ian, Smith or Wilson id say
October 30th, 2007 at 3:04 pm
“I love the strip, but I wish you guys would be honest about when you’re updating.”
LOL. Re-post — use search function.
“is there a specific number of pages you expect this comic to run”
Read the blog post for Page 1.
October 30th, 2007 at 3:23 pm
i think this really depends on what kind of person hes gonna be, richmond sounds stuck up. if hes going to be devious and evil-esk his name should be Malakai, but if hes gonna be good then something like Beau. i really like Malakai though
October 30th, 2007 at 3:34 pm
Look at this assistant. It’s not the lawyer-type. Someone with this type of hairstyle believes to be the smartest smartass that ever cheated on his master. No posh brit surname. No complicated slavic names. (Although I immediatly thought “That guy looks like a chzech…”) Something that sounds dynamic. Jefferson Bentz. “Hi, I am Jeff!” Joey calls him “Bentz” or “Dopey”, depending to his mood. The other staff call him “Mister Bentz” for fear, “Jeff”, if they believe to be smarter than him, or “Smartass” behind his back.
October 30th, 2007 at 3:36 pm
I think the assistants name could be Volker Sanders.
Or even Matthias (german name which would best be “translated” as Matthew).
Best regards and keep up the good work
October 30th, 2007 at 5:45 pm
“Montague,” is more of a last name than first name though, I’d not go suggesting Mr Butlertron here be named Rahn. Whoo, I recind Sebastion, Mr Butlertron is such a better name, Clone High was a cool cartoon.
October 30th, 2007 at 8:13 pm
Fredrik Fältcrona or
Fredrik Feltcrona
October 30th, 2007 at 10:15 pm
Ha, I just realized that Richmond looks like XxkillstealerxX from Chainmail Bikini.
October 30th, 2007 at 10:54 pm
He is, no doubt, a Richmond Conner
October 30th, 2007 at 11:03 pm
hmm.. how about edmund? or marvin? or olga? wait, olga’s a feminine name. whatever. or richard. he could then be nicknamed dick and then be referenced to dick cheney, maybe. or maybe not.
October 31st, 2007 at 12:26 am
Edmund… First thing that popped into my head.
October 31st, 2007 at 7:23 am
I have to second “Alan” as the best name for the assistant; I have had several calendars and PDAs and I always call the current one Allan (I spell it with two Ls)–it’s just a good generic, bland name for a secretary or a manservant.
Allan, get that, would you?
Allan, see these people out.
Where the hell is Allan?
Talk to Allan, he’ll handle it.
Allan will take care of all that.
October 31st, 2007 at 9:18 am
First thing I thought would be Edmund. Second would be Julian. Third could be a Melvin or some such.
Richmond is a snazzy name aswell. =p
Also for some reason I get the distinct inpression his last name would start with a ‘V’ …
Verran, Vorster… *shrugs*
October 31st, 2007 at 10:11 am
Crawford. esq. lol
October 31st, 2007 at 12:56 pm
Hmm… I’d say, from all the comments and stuff, you ot it made here, but I’ll pitch in my opinion as well. From the general looks of it, as a semi-secondary character, I would say that Richomnd is a good suggestion, as are Claude and Arthur. They fit the personality profile that seems determined thus far. As for the bus driver, not really important, but to distill what I picked up, we have Hank and an assortment of other short, trite names. Last names are irrelevant unless we wish to toy with the modes of address, which obviously makes things more complicated than neccessary.
And… No Alaska stuff? What do you have against us? Nah, just kidding. Pure-bred Alaskan and proud of it, but I realize that everyone thinks we ride polar bears and live in igloos… Instead of surfing the net while its nice and cold outside and procrastinating on homework like every other self-respecting student. In any case, I love the comic, and good luck on distilling the rest of this list of names. I think you’ll need it.
Peace,
Devath
October 31st, 2007 at 2:17 pm
Garrison looks like it would be a suitable last name for him. Richmond Garrison…that sounds like an Ivy league yes-man to me.
October 31st, 2007 at 2:23 pm
I just found this comic like..a half hour ago? And I LOVE it. I’m so glad I accidently clicked ona random link from another comic xD
October 31st, 2007 at 3:08 pm
You know what’s wierd, to me, it looks like the bus driver forgot they were going to Africa, and said Alaska cause it sounds like Africa ^^;
The Assistant needs a name that starts with a D. Like Dereck. Or Damien, or Devon, or Damen, or something
October 31st, 2007 at 4:08 pm
Maxwell. Maxwell Worthington II. ^^
You guys STILL rock!!
October 31st, 2007 at 4:59 pm
Personally, I’d say that the assistant should be named Baldrick. Just because I’m a Blackadder fan. ^_^
October 31st, 2007 at 6:30 pm
Go bus driver! And her dad is halarious.
For the assistant, either Richard or Richmond. I think he looks more like the former, but as I look back the latter name fits well too.
October 31st, 2007 at 8:36 pm
i like percy
October 31st, 2007 at 8:36 pm
I think everyone liked or at least felt pity for the bus driver to begin with. If I may suggest a name for him? Conrad. Rad for short. Just because
i don’t really give much of a hoot about the assistant.
October 31st, 2007 at 8:38 pm
Yay! New page! ^-^
Stasia’s dad looks like he’ll be interesting… as to his assistant, I vote for Charlie.
October 31st, 2007 at 11:43 pm
whatever the guy’s name, he looks eerily like Aeon Clock from Air Gear. which is funny, cause he’s got basically the same job as Aeon did for half his part in the manga.
November 1st, 2007 at 1:28 am
He looks kind of like a “Jefferson” or a “Reinhold” to me. -shrug-
November 1st, 2007 at 2:10 am
Can’t wait to see more of Stasia’s dad!
I see Stanford or Quentin or Mervyn or Patrick or Ribston. Or something. xD Good luck!
November 1st, 2007 at 4:07 am
I love how the bus driver has a ‘How dare you question me?’ on the 6th panel!
November 1st, 2007 at 4:10 am
that bus driver reminds me of the one that went on a trip with my school! the teachers thought we were drinkin (we werent just happy to be outta school!) and asked him if he was hidin alcohol for us and he tore them a new one (don’t no wot he said, it was a REALLY thick scottish accent!):) but stasia’s driver rocks socks!!
i think her dad should be Richmond or Winston and his assistant should be Andrew Sanders (but her dad should only use his last name, and maybe he could be shocked/confused when someone say Andrew coz he never thought assistants had first names)
November 1st, 2007 at 6:28 am
Where DOESN’T Stasia have a charity HQ?
Her Dad’s assistant looks like a “Desmond” or a “Henry” or a “William”… Maybe a “Simon”…
November 1st, 2007 at 10:59 am
Lol ! Dont know if the bus driver was being loyal to Stasia, unloyal to her Dad or just forgot where she said they were going so said the first thing that came to him
Keep up the good work !
November 1st, 2007 at 11:03 am
Richard sounds great. Or maybe Winston? And how about Ferdinand? xD Just kidding now… Winston or Richard I guess.
November 1st, 2007 at 1:37 pm
I believe he looks either like a Vernon or a Bosley. Though I suppose he COULD pull off a Nigel…
November 1st, 2007 at 3:37 pm
Im thinking hes a Will Larkin.
Seriously, I have a new hero, his name is Bus driver man
November 1st, 2007 at 3:52 pm
Yeah Nigel suits. So does Jack.
November 1st, 2007 at 4:01 pm
So anyone think about the implications of Dad’s “I hate charity” when Stasia donates 97% of her income to charity? That may be why Dad hates charity. But it also means Stasia get her own way over how to spend the profits.
I wonder where he gets his money from. Is he taking big management fees, or was he rich already?
November 1st, 2007 at 4:04 pm
“Is he taking big management fees, or was he rich already?”
Normal management fees (which equals a TON when your Stasia’s manager), and no, they were middle class before Stasia hit it big.
November 1st, 2007 at 4:56 pm
his name should be arthur dent
November 1st, 2007 at 6:21 pm
It’s as stupid as…. well, as it sounds. But here’s my contribution: Dewbert.
Why did I just type that? Well, I just LOOKED at him and thought: “Huh. He looks kind of…. eh. He could be evil, a prick or a wimp…. I know. He looks sort of like a Dewbert.”
It could be a last name.
CHOCOLATE FOR THE BUS DRIVER!!! *gives the bus driver a bag of Twix left over from Halloween* Hey, he deserves SOMETHING for not getting to go to Africa and then not ratting them out.
November 1st, 2007 at 6:58 pm
His name should be “Warren Worthingham the Third.” or any “the Third.” It makes him pompous.
November 1st, 2007 at 7:04 pm
The assistant is Richmond Cornelius Witherwax or RC to those who don’t like him…
November 1st, 2007 at 7:04 pm
Arthur Dent as a name ticks me off….:)
November 1st, 2007 at 7:30 pm
Her dad looks like he could be a viking so I am going to suggest Eric
the assistant looks like a Chester or a Julius something you would name a lapdog.
November 2nd, 2007 at 6:22 am
I’m sure the assistant looks like an Eric to me.
Love the comic, I look forward to more.
November 2nd, 2007 at 7:41 am
Dude, that guy’s an Erwin. 100%. Yup.
November 2nd, 2007 at 9:16 am
Name him Phil
November 2nd, 2007 at 12:15 pm
the assistant kind of reminds me of Puck from the Gargoyle’s cartoon
November 2nd, 2007 at 1:18 pm
Aberforth. Or Quintin.
I like your comic.
November 2nd, 2007 at 3:16 pm
Gilbert sounds like a fitting name.
November 2nd, 2007 at 3:34 pm
Darren, Damon, Dean, Dustin, Kane, Fletcher, Aaron, Oren, Warren, William, Jackson, Jared, James
November 2nd, 2007 at 3:49 pm
Raymond Grioux Fitzgerald.
Its french.
November 2nd, 2007 at 7:23 pm
He looks like a Leslie Moreau. He got made fun of a lot as a kid cause he had a girl name, so he goes by Herbert, his middle name. But don’t call him Herb, or else he might be forced to take dractic action.
November 2nd, 2007 at 8:40 pm
Jerrimiah malloy
November 2nd, 2007 at 8:55 pm
I read the comment in last Blood = P he wasnt serious = ( Im kinda sad he wont have a role in the comic now that hes been named over one hundred times.
November 3rd, 2007 at 10:00 am
I like the name Lawson..or Donald….but Richard works I guess
November 3rd, 2007 at 1:57 pm
Siegfried Birchfeldt
November 3rd, 2007 at 2:36 pm
sigfreid. definitely sigfreid. or however it should be spelled.
or Youthere.
November 3rd, 2007 at 3:04 pm
I’d have to say that the assistant looks like a Bertram… Bertram fits a weasily, snobbish assistant….
Bertram J. Philmore IV…
November 3rd, 2007 at 6:33 pm
Gerald Bradford Richmond :O
November 3rd, 2007 at 6:46 pm
If it hasn’t been decided yet I suggest Owen.
November 3rd, 2007 at 10:45 pm
I think the assistants name should be Juilien. That way maybe the girls could make fun of him at some point & call him JJ because they know it gets on his nerves.
November 4th, 2007 at 1:42 am
I second any votes that say he is an Alex or Alexander, he just seems like an Alex to me.
November 4th, 2007 at 7:14 am
Hey, long time reader, first time poster here as well.
I work in Richmond, VA, so I think Richmond would be a great name! But how about this? He’s only ever called Richmond, but everyone is always wondering whether it’s his first name or his last name!
Sorry if someone already suggested this, but my eyes started to fall out after the first 125 comments. I just woke up. o_O
Surf Wisely!
November 4th, 2007 at 12:56 pm
Frederique
November 4th, 2007 at 7:17 pm
I was just reading through some of the old pages and I noticed the the stage manager looks a lot like the nameless townspeople from Invader Zim. Especially in the middle of page 5 with the big round eyes that just have a small dot in the middle and don’t always seem to point in the same direction. Just thought I’d mention that since I haven’t commented on anything in ages.
P.S. Awsome, wonder how long they’ll stay in Alaska before they figure out that they went in the wrong direction
November 4th, 2007 at 7:23 pm
No one will actually go to Alaska. There are a trillion simple ways for Stasia’s dad to find out that she’s not going there. Bus driver tried to help, though, at least.
Minor spoiler: Stasia’s dad will probably stop chasing her around the world. It’s pretty pointless and stupid.
November 4th, 2007 at 7:24 pm
I wonder if the buss driver’s loyalty stems from liking Stasia, or from reallllllllly disliking her father. I mean, look at that expression on his face in pannel 6. It looks to me like he really loathes the dad
November 4th, 2007 at 11:04 pm
I love this comic. I check it everyday.
As for the guy’s name, I say Chris or Gary.
November 5th, 2007 at 6:45 am
I’m sorry but the assistant doesn’t look like he comes from a wealthy background; more like he’s working to get wealthy and catering to the Daddy is one step towards it. I’m thinking Edward Boylan. LOL Don’t know why.
November 5th, 2007 at 10:43 am
Yay, maybe now Ana will be able to concentrate on Guy!
November 5th, 2007 at 11:33 am
Hm… I think he needs a mean-sounding German name…
November 5th, 2007 at 11:50 am
Assistant = William (Bill) Casey
= Johnson Smitherton
= John Johns
= Arthur Archibalde
yes some of those names are retarded and make little or no sense …. i was trying to play off the generic “John Smith” for some and some alliterations on others
November 5th, 2007 at 12:04 pm
How bout…
Richmond Rawlins
Greg Dreed
Steiner Johnson (st-I-ner)
November 5th, 2007 at 2:59 pm
heh, I want to say “it certainly is, I’m Ron Wilson, Bus Driver.” And I want to go to Africa too!!!
November 5th, 2007 at 4:29 pm
“i like percy”
OOHH!!
That’s prefect! I vote the name Percival, Percy for short
November 7th, 2007 at 7:43 pm
He seems like a Reginald or a Eugene
November 9th, 2007 at 2:44 am
Oops. Forgot to post this earlier. “Ugh. I hate charity.” Priceless! The man is a cartoon character! He’s just asking for something to happen. Oh wait, something already is driving his blood pressure up most painfully. LOLz!
November 10th, 2007 at 11:47 pm
Maybe this is my imagination, but he kind of looks like this painting of Buddy Holly (I think) that was in a diner by my old house. Except with longer, straighter (more straight??) hair.
Of course, I was five or six years old at the time, so I could completely be mistaken. -laughs-
“i like percy”
… That makes me think of Harry Potter. And, for some reason, I like this assistant. And I don’t like Percy Weasley. So, please, no Percy. D’:
November 10th, 2007 at 11:48 pm
Oh dear…. I just made a typo. ON MY OWN NAME.
I feel really stupid.
November 12th, 2007 at 2:55 pm
Hail to the bus driver, bus driver man!
Somebody had to say it.
February 13th, 2008 at 7:03 pm
Yay for Alaska! I live in Alaska! WHOO! I wish I had a bus driver that cool…I wish i had a bus….
April 18th, 2008 at 6:58 am
Yay Bus Driver!!!
I’m loving this comic. I just found it yesterday, and this is definately becomming a regular.
April 19th, 2008 at 7:21 pm
XD LOL
Check out mista bus driver’s face in the first panel! I love that guy! =D

Wow, you know how much I love you for just REFERENCING the IT crowd?
Like, A LOT.
