  1. Draco Says:

oh no! the page isn’t showing!!! :(

  2. Noir Says:

I think there may be something wrong - I don’t even see a b/w version of the comic up.

  3. Zudo Says:

    First?

  4. Noir Says:

Oops, works now! Thanks! I love this comic!

  5. Pat Says:

    SWEET!

  6. Sun_Tze Says:

    FIRST!

I wonder why Parker reacted like that…

  7. Draco Says:

maybe I’m just dumb or something, but I guess I don’t really get the conversation going on in the 4th panel…

  8. Nick Says:

    DUN DUN DUN DUNNNNN

  9. Mike Says:

Wow….finally get a bit of character development on Denny. Cool!

  10. NadiaZeta Says:

    Waaa finally Africa xD

  11. Bobby Crosby Says:

“maybe I’m just dumb or something, but I guess I don’t really get the conversation going on in the 4th panel…”

Stasia’s last name is Tyler (comic has mentioned this multiple times), and we saw in Panel 3 that her cancer research center was named after Sarah Greta Tyler and we learn that she didn’t know much about her because she died when Stasia was four. Denny of course assumes from this that Sarah Greta Tyler died of cancer and he asks if it was breast cancer because his grandma was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, a common cancer among women, and Stasia correctly guesses that someone close to Denny has breast cancer and that’s why he asked that question.

  12. Mithril Says:

i was expecting an “uh huh” from Parker in the last panel, not an “uh oh” so i assume she knows something we don’t. are we, by any chance, going to meet and ex-boyfriend of stasia’s?

  13. Bobby Crosby Says:

    Page 1 answers all.

  14. Tom Says:

“I wonder why Parker reacted like that…”

Stasia’s most recent ex-boyfriend was in (though not starring in) the top ranking film in the country.

  15. Tom Says:

    Oops. Sorry for the redundancy.

  16. Bobby Crosby Says:

He actually did star in it — Stasia just didn’t want to give him the credit for it.

  17. MadDoctorD Says:

    O NOES! EX-BOYFRIENDS!

There is craziness in the air and he’s gonna challenge our guy, Guy!

  18. Will Says:

    w00t! Thanks for the update

  19. WanderingSentinel Says:

Another update! This one threw me a bit, panels 3, 4, 5, and 6 all introduce something new…literally. One hints at Stasia’s mom, the next hints at breast cancer research, the next feels honestly random (or at the very least a stretch) and the last hurls in what I assume will be one of Stasia’s exes. Too much info for four little panels to communicate!!!

  20. XJPhoenix Says:

Yeah, but Guy has strong Kung Fu.

If not, I bet Parker will Parker-ize the jerk!

I can see it now a la ‘Adventures in Babysitting’

Guy: “I could fight you, but I won’t sink to your level.”
    Parker: *shrugs* “I will.” *BooT!*

    Woot! New comic!

    : D

  21. Bobby Crosby Says:

“the next feels honestly random (or at the very least a stretch)”

    Page 8: Curing Cancer

    Page 31: Not Yet #1

    Page 47: Africa

Not sure what you’re saying was random or a stretch. I’m starting to think all criticism comes from people who haven’t even read the comic.

“Too much info for four little panels to communicate!!!”

Gotta finish this thing up in like 80 pages or less, especially now with a recent development (will tell later), so it will move even faster than normal now, but I don’t really mind that.

  22. Russ Says:

The interesting question will be - what is the ex-BF doing there? I had the impression that each boyfriend had been given a test related to this African foundation and failed. So, presumably he shouldn’t still be here…

… unless of course, he has realized his error and wants to try to get back together with her.

  23. smith Says:

    >

My immediate thought is that it’s more likely he’s PO’ed that she suddenly married someone after their recent break-up and he’s there to, well, be all ex-boyfriend-y.

    Rockin’!

  24. Crystal Says:

“I’m starting to think all criticism comes from people who haven’t even read the comic.”

Well, I guess that since it’s a new comic, people can’t remember that many details from their last read of the archives. ^^ I mean, I personally read about 20 to 30 different comics, and sometimes when a new page comes out, I wonder “Huh, where did that come from?” and ask someone, and it turns out that it was referenced a few pages ago and I just hadn’t recalled because there are so many storylines to keep track of.

  25. Patch Says:

I didn’t find the page difficult to understand at all…
Of, course it’s probably because I’ve lost family members to cancer. It makes it a little easier to interpret conversations about the subject. I’ll admit it did take me a minute to put 2 and 2 together on the ex-boyfriend though… But, if you start from the beginning of the comic and actually make an attempt at absorbing what you read, you’ll be able to piece together all sorts of vague and fractured referrences to previous pages.

  26. Bobby Crosby Says:

And of course reading the next page (s) will explain all about that too.

  27. amy Says:

Great comic. Thanks for sharing it. :)

  28. Spidie Says:

I have to admit, I just spent the last 6 hours reading through this and also “Last Blood”. Very interesting reading. I play World of Warcraft and a guildmate of mine found the link to Last Blood and I enjoyed reading it, so I followed the link to this one. I never put web url’s on my favorite list, but both of these are now there.

Very interesting story on both accounts and very well written. I only have one question….Can I be a vampire in the movie for Last Blood?”

Keep up the good work, will be interesting to see what happens next in this series.

    Spidie

  29. Proxess Says:

It must be one of Stacia’s ex boyfriends! I bet the movie star is gonna pick on Guy and Guy’s gonna make the movie star look stupid :D

  30. Anko Says:

Nice page, it’s interesting to see what it looks like before it’s colored. Can’t wait for more!

  31. David Kastrup Says:

Parker is so going to get into a fight for Guy’s and Stasia’s sake here.

  32. Claen'tor Says:

Meh, first comment here, though I actually started following this comic before LB. Anyway.

Sw33t, update. Eisu is getting back on track again! -wewt-

    This be Claen’tor, signing off.

  33. Sayo Says:

Another awesome page, can’t wait to see color! ^o^

  34. dan Says:

We get to meet an ex which seems fun.

I hope that you can stretch this comic over 80 pages. While I am very sure in your capability to write a good story, but I would just like this to drag on a bit longer with as much character development as possible.

I wonder if we get to see a tough side of Guy. Maybe he is rip (not muscular but very fit), maybe he whoops somebodys ass or maybe he saves somebody from an accident. While I like him and his personality every male has their “I am big and bad” side and seeing a little of it come out would be a nice treat imo.

Anyways good job on the comic. I like it very much.

  35. Vic Says:

Amazing, I ask and I receive…guess I picked a good time to get into this commic

  36. Twiggle Says:

I guess I’m in the minority, wanting Guy to resolve this (currently) hypothetical conflict without actually fighting. He seems calm and smart enough to know how.
Or if there is a fight, I hope the ex starts it and Guy takes total control in a frame or two. Inner-city high school guidance counselors need some martial arts training to help them subdue violent students, after all.

  37. Amala Says:

I wonder why yall are thinking there would be a fight… I’m not sure if all of her 3 exes dumped her but we know ONE of them did… SO if he dumped her, no reason to fight the new boyfriend(husband)… It definitely will stress Ana out though.. I suppose there could be a fight pertaining to that…

  38. Bartimaeus Says:

This’ll be extremely, extremely neat. Thanks for updating once more!

  39. Harmsy McTwelve Says:

    Where’s the color?

  40. Reapersfury Says:

What I’m wondering is what this ex is doing in AFRICA? Random visit, right by his ex’s cancer research center? Doubtful. He’s there to make trouble happen. It’s not like he would miss her imprompto wedding all over tv.

  41. regular Says:

It wouldn’t be a bad idea to post a link here for the susan G komen foundation or the mayo clinic or other such cancer research fund… that’d be awesome, actually.

  42. Kristen Says:

    Lovely, as always. :)

  43. Dave Says:

I’m thinking … “Ex-Boyfriends Suck”. To a tune we seem to know somehow…

Oh, and that bit about curing cancer in Chapter 8 - now we see she was serious.

And I like the enthusiasm Stasia’s expression shows in panel 2. Despite the stress of the concert, and the tiring flight, she’s REALLY woken up now she’s back at her project.

  44. Carol Says:

I feel so bad. I completely forgot about Denny. So when I saw him I had this total…’Huh?” moment. I had to go through the older comics to remind myself.

  45. Bobby Crosby Says:

regular: Good idea — planned to, forgot. That’s why Stasia’s mother’s initials start with S.G.

  46. dragonmage06 Says:

Well, I guess whatever Parker is looking for isn’t going to make Satsia happy.

  47. Isabelle Says:

You know, the Komen Foundation is great and all, but I can say first hand that they don’t spend their money all that well. Their business practices and ethics are also questionable.

If you want to help women in their struggle with breast cancer, the best thing to do is find your local breast cancer resource center. Most cities have one or at least one near by and your money (likely 100% of it if the foundation is volunteer based) will go directly to helping women and contributing to research.

Volunteering is also an incredible way to help. Even if it’s only like…an hour a month…it will provide more help (most likely) than your money would. Remember what Gandhi said: “We must be the change we wish to see in the world.”

  48. Evil713 Says:

um im having an issue the comic keeps going higher up to the point its compleatly covered the page bar above the comic.

  49. Bobby Crosby Says:

Looking perfect for me on Firefox. Might not be showing up right on all browsers. I have no clue about such things.

  50. Lemniskate Says:

I’ve been thinking. I’m quite positive this story has quite a chance to become a feature film because it works within the well-established discourses: the black male is hypermasculinisised, the lesbian is a comic relief, the good advices come from an expectant mother (thereby equipping the classic family role with the most reason and sanity) and it deals with the problems of a middle/upper class white heterosexual couple (depicting them as the most depictingworthy issue).

Anyway: these points I made are not meant to depreciate the serious issues dealt with in this work, especially the one treated on the actual page. These messages can be best delivered embedded into popular, much-noticed works to unfold an effect that matters, that changes something. Therefore: kudos!

  51. Mike Says:

Well after all, success in films does come from effective manipulation of archetypes! So long as the archetype remains a background from which to interpret the character, everything’s golden.
Actually, I think that this comic really excels in that regard; everyone has just enough of a stereotype underneath to really highlight more of their individual personality.
    Keep up the good work!

  52. dan Says:

I agree this story has the right elements for a quality movie.

What I want to see is a less logical or content Guy. When I say that I do not

mean for him to do something stupid or plain out immature, but seeing him

act a bit more impulsive or do something outright cool, would be a good treat

to his personality, because we can see another side of him.

  53. Norman728 Says:

    Hurray, it’s Denny!, (and Parker!)

One question though, Isn’t Denny on the payroll, Why is she asking for a donation?? ( Unless she asking for him to have a payroll deduction) I know she is a giving type. but seemed a little strange. keep it up the good work.

  54. Bobby Crosby Says:

He’s not specifically on the payroll of Stasia’s CHARITY, so I don’t really understand the question, and even if he was I wouldn’t really understand it. Don’t people work for various charities and get paid by the charities and then also often donate money to those same charities? Not sure if that makes any sense, but I assume it happens, but this situation is even less “weird” than that, since Denny is not working for the charity, but just for Stasia herself.

  55. regular Says:

Bobby! Thanks for responding and putting that link up there :) I agree with one of your other readers too.. it’s easy to see how Stasia can so easily see what he’s talking about because she’s been there, she knows how the pattern works. I’ve been there too and I caught it immediately.

  56. Adephi Says:

Just wanted to say I love this comic and can’t wait for the next update

  57. Jeff Says:

Since Stasia dumped him I’m assuming that the ex-boyfriend we’ll meet is going to be a bit of a snob or have a higher-than-thou attitude. Should make for a good read when he finds out that Stasia married Guy : )

  58. Norman728 Says:

what I meant was that since Stasia is paying him it would be her money going back in. or something like that.

  59. Mel Says:

This is terrific can’t wait to see what happens!

  60. KrisKrash Says:

I can see why this place is so important to her. I love how you conveyed all that meaning in just one panel (#4). And at first I was offended by panel 5 when she said he could make a donation, but then I thought about it, and realized if you could help in any way whatsoever for something that you can never physically help with, then ya, a donation to the people finding a cure makes sense.

  61. KrisKrash Says:

    thanks guys

  62. KayRis Says:

Aww, Nick, you beat me to it! That’s what I wanted to say!!!

  63. ScottyDarc Says:

OMG I LUVES THIS COMIC…. can u go faster?? i just wanna read and read and read ; )

  64. Orionsgate Says:

First time coming here, and honestly, this looks like a good web comic. Sporadic updates likely due to real life, but hey - last I checked, thats life.

Anyway, I like the feeling of this and as much as I don’t need another web comic to read I find myself bookmarking this site. I look forward to further updates and hope this continues for a long time yet.

  65. CostanzaK Says:

I’m a new fan, but one that has been looking at that advertisement in the right corner of my screen for a while. Up until now I’ve been a little leery of doing a Wowio download, (very paranoid about providing anyone with information about myself) but reading this comic has made me decide to sign up. This comic is so…I can’t really describe it. I love the characters. I love the premise (oh boy do I love it). I love the story and the art. And I love that “awwww” feeling I get from reading it. It’s sweet without that “trying hard” after taste you get from so many other sources. Just those little bits of persona you get out of Ana/Stacia make all the difference to me.

I’ll definitely be Wowio downloading this comic, and every future issue you put together.

And as an aside, you probably already have a name for the “Dad’s Assistant” but I still feel like throwing in my suggestion. How about “Ritchard Ferguson Dover”? I get the feeling he’s one of those stuffed shirts that is so proud of his name that he puts the entire thing on his business cards.

  66. Teardropcatcher Says:

Oooh, ex-bf! That spells trouble. Great page ^^

  67. kristen Says:

    Hey!

    I like this strip. :)

  68. ClobberGirl Says:

I truly wish my mother had breast cancer instead of the less common, less treatable, more lethal pancreatic cancer that she has. :( The whole disease is terrible and I think it’s good that you’re making a push for people to give to the cure without being too preachy about it, Bobby.

I encourage everyone to give their mothers a big hug next time you see them, no matter how young your mother is or how healthy you think your mother is. You never know what can happen, and it *can* happen to you, and you just don’t know how precious your time together is until you learn you don’t have much of it left.

  69. Cassie Says:

Uh-oh????? Darns it. That leaves oh so much to the imagination!

    Loving it!

  70. WanderingSentinel Says:

“Not sure what you’re saying was random or a stretch. I’m starting to think all criticism comes from people who haven’t even read the comic.

I’ve actually read followed this quite faithfully and I really enjoy it, but even with the past history, this page just seems tightly stretched to me. That makes sense as you seem to be working under a pretty firm deadline, but I’ve read through things and that’s how I feel.

  71. Bobby Crosby Says:

“I’ve actually read followed this quite faithfully”

I took your first comment to mean that you thought curing cancer came out of nowhere and was “random.”

  72. JD McLeod Says:

Did a marathon read of your comic. Great stuph! I’ve just put the WOWIO issues into my download queue.

    Thanx for the great read!

    ~ redkirk

  73. Bobby Crosby Says:

Thanks! Make sure you actually download them, though! No money until they’re downloaded. Thank you.

  74. JD McLeod Says:

Cha-Ching! Your 8-bits is on its way. I just DL your WOWIO issues. I had to wait to DL them because they only allow 3 DL’s a day.

Just added a link to you comic on my website.

    Can’t wait for more!

    ~ redkirk

  75. WanderingSentinel Says:

“I took your first comment to mean that you thought curing cancer came out of nowhere and was random.’”

Not at all! :D You just have very complex characters with differing motives and driving elements that you laid the groundwork for earlier on, and in this page a lot of those kick into action again at the same time. The result is major plot development (which is always good) and at least for me, a bit of confusion. Then again, I suppose when it becomes a movie things will be smoother because they usually do movies panel-by-panel. :)

  76. It's that guy you hate! (The Sean one) Says:

Hey! An update! I actually found this one first, and migrated to last blood when I was caught up and ran out of fresh pages to read. Now that the first book of Last Blood is finished, will we see more frequent updates on Marry me? It’s planned M-W-F obviously, but I figured the missed days were because you were trying to wrap up your other comic. (Although it could be unrelated.)
I haven’t read this one in a few weeks, so it took me a minute to remember who Denny was. I’m a little surprised that the Africa charity was a cancer reasearch center (not that I know anything about charities in africa,) I somehow expected her trial she “puts all her boyfriends through,” had somehting to do with poverty in the poorest areas of Africa. I’m pretty interested to see what the trial is. I guess I thought it would be a “fight poverty” kind of charity.

I think the first word bubble in panel three is a little crowded, but unless you wanted it breaching the borders, it doesent look like there was a lot of room.

  77. Bobby Crosby Says:

“Now that the first book of Last Blood is finished, will we see more frequent updates on Marry me?”

They’re completely unrelated. Rarely does the writing affect the update schedule of MM, although it does sometimes, but 90% of the update times are just based on when Eisu has the time.

“I’m a little surprised that the Africa charity was a cancer reasearch center”

That’s not what it says. It says “CHARITY and cancer research center.”

“I guess I thought it would be a ‘fight poverty’ kind of charity.”

It is. And these are her main global charity headquarters, as was said earlier in the comic, I think. She has smaller centers in various places, but most of her charity operations are controlled from this new Nairobi center.

  78. Bobby Crosby Says:

New page up at around 3 PM Pacific (under five hours from now). Meeting a new character!

  79. Feanor Says:

    I like this comic & Last Blood…
Found them recently, after seraph-inn and gwtb stopped updating…
will it help if I download marry me or last blood?
I’m from Europe, and it was said America only…

If there is a conflict, I hope Guy resolves it intellectualy…
He seems like someone with rapier wit XD

  80. Pamela Says:

OMG, two starts in a few days, how EVER will Parker handle it?!? LOL

Great work, guys, keep it comin
