We’re having some major difficulties with moving the site to a faster, more reliable server, and some things might not work in the next few days! The comments also are screwed up a little in this time, with some appearing on the old site and some on the new. They should be merged eventually. Thanks for your patience!

Nah. No killing. Little humiliation is much better. Christian just need some lesson that you can’t get everything from rich dad, like reliability, wisdom, etc.

  10. Miroku2235 Says:

    GET HIM GUY! GET HIM!

  11. StaticXCC Says:

FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT !!!

  12. Shoeboxjeddy Says:

Nice comic as always. I’d just like to point out that Christian is even worse at Spanish than he is at people skills. “La poca una,” is the phrase he’s looking for.

  13. Erik Says:

Don’t even know if you can say that in spanish, perhaps La pequeña me tiene. Dunno

  14. Bartimaeus Says:

I couldn’t see the color version, but I voted and got the BW one. Wow. I’d swear that Parker’s trying to strangle him.

  15. SinisterlySweet Says:

I can’t see the color either, but I got the b&w. Great page. :D

  16. XJPhoenix Says:

    *LOL*

    Yay Parker!

I’ll throw my hopes in with the folks who want to see Guy get a little physical with Christian.

Or maybe Denny. That’d be cool too.

    :)

    Christian needs an ass kicking…

  24. Pamela Says:

*gape* Dood, Guy is gonna beat the SHIT outta him!!

And in so doing, he’s going to reveal to Stasia his manliness :P

KILL ‘IM, GUY!! KILL HIM DEAD!!!!!

*as Michael Buffer when Guy pounces* LET’S GET READY TO RUMBAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!

  25. Jana Says:

Not “el poco uno”, not “la poca una”- although it was a nice detail for it to be the right gender-.
La chiquita! Seriously, Google is not that good translating to Spanish. Of course, I suppose Bobby knew that wasn’t right, but Christian would so NOT know anything that wasn’t English.
I am sooo glad the page is posted! Anyhow, these last are such cliffhangers! Great job Bobby, and you gotta love Eisu for that last pannel. We finally see a really passionate Guy. (Let’s just hope that we can see that passion with Ana, too).

I couldn’t see the comic on that link to the image. It said it was Forbidden =/
Luckily there was the B&W version up. =)

  26. Scaramouche Says:

HE HIT MY PARKER I’M GOING TO KICK HIS ASS GRRRRRRRRRR

  27. CaptainWasabi Says:

I wanna see Guy hold off Denny while Parker beats the crap outta Christian. :)

  28. batgirl Says:

OMG! As my gran whould say ‘he ain’t no getleman so he deserves what ever the good lord sees fit to give him’ please let that be a fist and then a knee and possiably traction?

  29. Choko Says:

Well as a native Spanish speaker, I can confirm that “el poco uno” makes no sense in my language. A better translation could be “la pequeña me tiene” as Erik pointed out.

  30. Bobby Crosby Says:

Christian is obviously not a native Spanish speaker and he doesn’t know the language well. He doesn’t know English all that well either. He’s a stupid moron.

  31. athene Says:

yeah, guy needs to give him an applied lesson in chivalry. Unless parker goes postal on his ass. Either way, i’m gonna enjoy this.

That was fun, can i have some more? :P

  32. StasiaFan Says:

As another native Spanish speaker (from Spain) I can also confirm that “el poco” is a pitiful Christian’s try to speak Spanish (I can hardly believe he can utter a word in English after his way of taggin’ people (”The big one”, “The little one”), more adequate for Tarzan than for an actor). I also agree about the “La pequeña me tiene” translation, but I believe that “La chiquitina me ha pillado” or “La pequeñaja me ha pillado” (in a more pejorative way) would be more addequate, but it depends of the Spanish variation according to the speakers country.

  33. Xandra Says:

Oooo Get him get him! Beat his Snotty Butt!!!

  34. Pohjantähti Says:

I love this comic, but I gotta love all the moral outrage in the comments over a guy slapping a girl WHO WAS STRANGLING HIM. Now, I don’t think men should slap women around any more than I think men should slap weaker men around, but seriously, if a woman is hitting/kicking/strangling/etc a man, I think he has the right to smack her. It’s not any kind of equality if women are allowed to get away with shit like that because “they’re weaker”. It’s not only unfair and hypocritical, but it also makes women look bad and INSANE, and strengthens the misconception that women are so weak and hysteric, that they need to be allowed to attack men and men aren’t allowed to defend themselves.

And before some idiot starts calling me a chauvinist, I’m a woman, and I’m a feminist. Only thing is that I’m actually for equality, not just the type of pseudo-feminism that just allows women to get away with everything.

  35. Tomatocaco Says:

Pohjantähti, that went through my head, too. Chivalry’s a sweet concept, imo, but I think self-defense takes priority any day. And if you’ve ever been choked at any point in your life, you KNOW how frightening it is. Doesn’t matter who’s strangling you.
As much as I dislike Christian, I can’t fault him for striking Parker in this page. I dislike the whole hitting-a-woman-to-establish-guy-as-a-jerk trope to begin with. It’s overused and it’s often unneccessary, and I hope this comic doesn’t play into that. I…really hope it’s not just a cheap ploy to get Guy to hit Christian.

  36. Starline Says:

I completely agree with Pohjantahi and Tomatocaco.

  37. Bobby Crosby Says:

“I dislike the whole hitting-a-woman-to-establish-guy-as-a-jerk trope to begin with.”

He was established as a jerk in about 10 ways already before he punched Parker.

“I…really hope it’s not just a cheap ploy to get Guy to hit Christian.”

Don’t really understand that. What’s wrong with Guy defending his best friend? It doesn’t matter if Christian was justified in hitting Parker or not, or if she was justified in attacking him for what he did before that (acting like a huge asshole by firing people he recently hired for no reason and ending his charity, among other possible things from the past that she hates him for). What matters is that Guy’s best friend is now in a fight with someone and he’s going to be on her side. The gender doesn’t even matter. If you see your best friend get punched by somebody, especially if that person is at least twice as big and strong as your friend, you jump in and help.

Also, Parker probably saved Christian’s life by getting to him before those fired workers might have really done some damage. Guy might also help that with his actions on Page 60.

Also, Christian obviously could have chosen to push Parker off him and get up instead of punching her. He went too far and he was never really in danger from her, as evidenced by the fact that he was able to scream, as many others pointed out. She never even hit him — just jumped on his back and he fell forward and she grabbed the shirt from his shoulder and started trying to choke him with it in a crazy way that clearly wouldn’t work and he panicked like a scared little boy and screamed for help and BLAH BLAH BLAH. Anyway.

  38. Coyotelovely Says:

I think the whole Parker choking Christian might be a little over the top - but then the Parker character has always been a little over the top, so I’m not really surprised by her actions.

I think Bobby has done a good job in keeping with the flavor of each of the characters. Parker is harmless, she tried to choke a guy with a shirt, which might work if the person in question had more strength, or if she was holding the shirt in a way that was more of a choke, rather then reigns. She was annoyed, she jumped on Christian.

Christian, being a self centered, ego maniacal jerk decided that the best way to handle the situation, was to try and get someone to help him. Failing that, he took matters into his own hands, but evidence of what sort of man he is, he didn’t think about having an equal sort of response. I’ve had girls much smaller then me sitting on my back (for reference, I am a woman) and it’s not that hard to turn over and flip them off you. By proxy, Christian has to be stronger then I am too - he’s an in shape male, and I’m a slightly out of shape female. So he really wasn’t thinking.

Guy is a loyal friend, and I think Bobby’s right about this. I have friends for whom it wouldn’t matter if they were wrong or right. If a fight broke out, I’d leap all over their attacker - justified or not.

I think the only gripe I could make (aside of my personal feelings on how weird and over the top Parker acts) is: Where are Christian’s bodyguards? If he’s that rich and famous, he should have some. Even Stasia has one… There’s got to be some muscle man available to yank “Un Poco Uno” off Christian…

  39. Coyotelovely Says:

BTW: Bobby - I think this is a really adorable premise for a story.

  40. jose lope Says:

Hey, didn’t we talk about all this happening last page? about Parker attacking Christian, the workers not helping him, etc… Yays

It’d be funny if Guy starts to beat him, only to have Parker “beat him to the punch” (pardon the pun/cliche)… but I think it would be better for the story otherwise.

  41. Rosebud Says:

I’m not quite sure what or why this scene is for, but people wanting to hurt Christian I don’t understand. He’s not worth any further consideration. I was expecting courtship and getting to know each other, not petty bickering.

As for Google translate, I don’t understand the criticism given that it gives “El pequeño” for “the little one” and “La pequeña mujer” for “the little woman”. For anything you do computer translation for, I find it works best if you translate the result back into the original language and compare with the original text. (eg, English -> Spanish -> English) If they are roughly the same, it is likely that the translated text will be comprehensible in the translated version. It’s an interesting exercise in clarity, too.

I can’t believe I could have seen this page a half week earlier. *sniff* At least it’s finally visible to me now. Given how few pages are supposed to be left, though, I was expecting more between Stasia and Guy.

  42. Lydia Says:

Well, my earlier comment disappeared with all the site issues. My original comment was just pointing out that while hitting a woman is perceived as WRONG, she WAS choking him.

I’m pretty sure if I were a guy being strangled or physically threatened by a woman, I would slap her just to get her to stop. At least he didn’t PUNCH her.

  43. Lydia Says:

Bah, sorry to post again. Bobby pointed out he could push her. I know he’s a jerk, and he’s being portrayed as such.. but in the heat of the moment, I’m not sure I’d be thinking of my assailant’s welfare either.

Yes, yes, I know he doesn’t really care about anyone’s welfare but his own.

  44. Some guy over there Says:

MURG BLURG GO GO POWNOS GO!!!! The nittle one is so going to kick him in the gems so hard. nuting less then he deserves tho.

  45. Kristen Says:

I just can’t picture Guy throwing a punch - even to defend Parker. It seems out of character. He may try something else, but fighting seems anti-counselor-ish.

  46. invaderhog Says:

OMFG!?! Don’t you dare karate chop Parker! Donde esta me pantelones? (I don’t freaking speak spanish, I speak Japanese… sumimasen deshita!)

  47. Sonadora100 Says:

I love this comic! ^^ But there’s not a lot of sense in what Christian is saying in Spanish, he should say “¡El pequeño! ¡El pequeño!”

  48. Luciérnago Says:

    ¿”El poco uno”? XD
    “La pequeña”
El poco uno = The bit 1
El pequeño = The little one (masculine)
La pequeña = The little one (feminine)

  49. Sprainogre Says:

This isn’t going to be a popular statement, but Parker deserved that. While Christian was certainly a jerk, she physically attacked him and started to choke him. Sorry, if she wants to play that game, she had better be willing to accept the consequences of her actions. Him backhanding her to get her off is well within the realm of justification. Sure, you don’t hit woman, I’m more then old school minded to stand by that. However, you do strike aggressors.

  50. dany el oso Says:

cool but there’s a confusion when he talks in spanish
english ”the little one” in spanish means ” el pequeño” and if is a woman ” la pequeña”
jejejej well good comic i love it :3

  51. Bobby Crosby Says:

Christian is confused often obviously. He’s horrible with English — no reason why he’d be good at Spanish.

  52. mendwell Says:

i know we are supposed to sympathies with parker but, she jumped him. No one has the right to attack anyone else. Male or Female, we learned this is pre-k KEEP YOU HANDS & FEET to yourself and no biting. He had every right to defend himself, and parker got what she deserved. I only hope that guy doesn’t do something stupid like jump in the fight.

  53. Saphiria Says:

    GO PARKER GO!

  54. chumash99 Says:

What Saphiria said. I love this comic! BTW, Christian actually *did* say “the little one” (”Poco uno”), but mangled his syntax a bit. “El”, meaning “the”, screws it up somehow. Let’s hear it for BabelFish! [http://babelfish.altavista.com/tr]

  55. mininou Says:

    emm…anyway…it is not POCO…’cause POCO=NOT MUCH
SO…THE LITTLE ONE=LA CHIQUITA, LA PEQUEÑA
YANKEES, GO OUT OF YOUR BUBBLE!!.
    ARGENTA DE CORAZÓN!! (ARGENTINAAA)
