This is not technically “Yes” to the posed question. It is “Yes” to the question “do you think me hot?”
I guess Guy is aware of the difference. Probably hence his hesitation.
However, as a counsellor, he is pretty certain to be able not to act on the “do you think me hot” implied question if it means trouble he is not willing to face.
In this case, this means he is willing to face the heat. And I think Stasia, while knowing pretty little of him up to now, can interpret this correctly.
They still haven’t gotten to know each other better. But this has bought them time: they now have no rush to catch up, knowing that they are determined to make it work.

Hey Bobby, is that a moment of contemplation in Panel 2 or a camera-take? I could see it either way. A moment of contemplation is right in line with Guy, who seems fairly methodical. “Do I like you? Gee, I hadn’t really considered yet. One moment. Right. Yes, definitely.”
On the other hand, the crazy bits of the comic fit right in with a camera take. “Do you like me?” “Look at this kid, as if there’s any doubt. She’s crazy, ain’t she audience?”

Definitely not a camera take. I probably should have specified in the script that he shouldn’t look in the camera for that panel, but it’s no big deal. He wasn’t contemplating if he likes her or not, though. He was just contemplating if he should tell her now, and if so, how. He wanted to wait as long as possible before letting on that he liked her, but then he just thought “Screw it.”

Anna’s got the look of despair, like she’s about to find out he doesn’t like her because he’s looking away.
And Guy, Guy just the look of “Should I really do it? Is this how I want to tell her?” And yea, great way to let her know how much you like her.
This isn’t a response to the “do you think I’m hot question” this I can see as being an honest response to the “do you like me” question. I mean, they are married, and a kiss can speak more than any word.

I never cease to be amazed at how good Eisu is at capturing emotions in his renditions of facial expressions. Just perfect for a story such as this one with its emotional content and swings.

That was absolutely…… perfect. Whoever said a picture is worth a thousand words was obviously looking at panel 2. I felt so bad for her, you can tell she’s thinking “Oh my god…he’s gonna say no.” And the whole time he’s just trying to figure out the best way to say yes. Kudos to Guy for finding pretty much the best way possible. And Kudos to Bobby and Eisu for an excellent comic.

I just remembered what I first thought when he looked away….
I thought he was checking in the cab of the truck to see if anyone was looking…..or maybe he wanted her to be surprised by the kiss, because she certainly was.
I now know that both of those theories were wrong but since everyone else was talking about what they thought of the kiss and when I made my last post I didn’t have time for anything more than a loud display of how much I think this comic rocks I thought I’d state it now.

Nice. Looks like Stasia got a bad bump on the head though, I guess Guy’ll just have to “kiss it better”! =) I haven’t been able to determine if there is even a cab window into the cargo area, though I could easily imagine Parker glancing into the rearview as they pull into the village and her heart stops as fast as the truck did.

Also, I know it was mentioned above that the second panel looked kind of like a camera take. Obviously it’s fine the way it is, but just a tip for Eisu is that maybe Guy looking down would have seemed a little more contemplative, rather than looking back and away.

Hmm… I felt I needed to add some criticism here.
I really like this comic, it’s entertained me very well and the characters are all rather nice and amusing.
But my main problem are the first three frames. We do seem to be getting the idea that Guy looks at Stasia in the first frame, turns away in the second, then quickly goes back to kiss her on the third.
Yet, I feel that there could’ve been something done to show that motion was involved. I was thinking curved lines, differenciating in length and darkness to differentiate just how fast the motion was. Minor blur effect optional.
Aside from that, I don’t have that much of a problem with the comic, and I have to say.
Guy was groping her ass on their first kiss. Man, he wants to jump the bases don’t he?

Several updates since I could last read the comic? This is almost as good as that kiss Guy was getting/giving.
In response to the person posting as Random Guest Person Thingy, I will probably be ridiculed for saying this, but I am a 31 year old virgin, and if I were in Guy’s position, I would be wanting to outrun the Flash on the bases.
Early on in the comic, Stasia did comment that all 3 of her last boyfriends had something in common besides being number 1 in their respective field, maybe in reference to the same number, they never got past 1st base with her. It’s late for me right now, but I don’t recall any references that I saw where it talked about Stasia’s or Guy’s past “prowess”, so from my admittedly tired perception right now, in the back of that truck are two people married, maybe not in the sight of the U.S. Government or the Sanburu tribe, but in the sight of the Almighty (unless the priest turned out to be from, say… The Church of Elvis or something), and they are FINALLY getting around to their honeymoon, however bumpy it might be…
Besides, Guy and Stasia ended up in a much more embarrassing position than her sitting in his lap. I could almost see Parker looking in, seeing them in that position, and trying to force Denny & Janny away from the truck…
Again, Bobby, Eisu, awesome work on this comic, I eagerly await the eventual movie.

Heh, the way I see it, as lnog as you get the idea, then it works, no need to do motion lines… I mean, I do motion lines sometimes, but most of the times, I hate them, so I try my darndest not to do motion lines and let the drawing speak for itself.

Aww!! *Flutters* That’s almost exactly how my boyfriend of three years now ended up telling me he loved me, only he completed the thought process out loud. It was a little alarming, actually… We were in the middle of making out, when:

I love the kiss, but i question about Guys hand looping under her belt. I thought “Is he going to try and do it in the back of the van?” Having his hand in that area would have been appropriate for the mood, but through the belt seemed like it was going to fast.

I dont think the hand around the belt was anything inappropriate for the situation, he is holding on to her so she doesnt fall. I think its a very safe area for his hand to be. Now if you grabbed her ass that might be a little far.

I loved Panel two. And I think it would make a good romanic comedy movie. I’d watch it.. probably not in theatre’s… but I’d so buy the movie. I love Parker Guy and Stasia. ^_^
