  1. Anko Says:

The last panel is probably the only part of “Marry Me” that won’t be better in the movie. Just so priceless.

  2. Lydia Says:

HAH her expression at the end is awesome. Her jaw should go a little lower and hit the floor.

    <3 Richmond

  3. dan Says:

that was quite a shocker…. what will happen now? what will she say? what will she think? dun dun dun….

  4. Naro Says:

Wasn’t expecting that. Guy accomplished two things, Mr. Tyler’s approval of him, and for showing Mr. Tyler that he cares. Nice.

I would definitely buy the book if you had it online.

  5. Rosebud Says:

    Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. :)

    That’s so cute. (And hopefully non-contentious. :)

  6. Dan S. Says:

That is a priceless expression on her face. If she takes everything as a sign I wonder how she’d take this?
Maybe the talk show’s name should be “Everybody loves that Guy”

  7. Tegan Says:

damn but Guy is good. too good… he has to be an alien! (or a vampire)

  8. LazerWulf Says:

I like panel 5. It looks all dynamic.

  9. Angus the cat Says:

If it wasn’t already confirmed, Guy is officially my hero.

    No irony intended…

  10. Dark Chili Says:

    lol wut?

  11. Jodo Says:

“They shook hands? And we’re not married? WHAT THE *bleep*”

  12. Liari Says:

Fantastic. It breaks my heart to think it’s almost over, but it’s been an awesome ride, guys. Things are really coming together, and I’m starting to get that warm feeling that happens when everything turns out well. I hope it does, at least. Much love, fellas.

  13. 51jetaime Says:

Yay ! Guy is just awesome : )

  14. Kiir Says:

This is the type of comic that needs to be on my bookshelf. Most likely twice…

  15. Pavlov Says:

All the good guys have beards. That’s great, just great! :)

  16. Ant Says:

Well, you want posted comments of who would buy? I would. Just… ya know… FYI.

  17. David Kastrup Says:

I am sorry to say this Bobby, but you don’t manage to sell off Mr Tyler as the jerk you insisted on concerning the last strip.

He is able to appreciate having been taken for a ride.

A sense of humor at one’s own cost is a no-no for jerks.

Maybe it’s Eisu’s “fault”, but that smile of his does not seem forced or calculated. The last comic was very much “This Guy _has_ potential”, but this one is “This Guy has _guts_. And I like them.”

It quite looks like he’ll be “Your pick to make. You could do worse than him.” Ok, we know as per spoiler that he is not actually going to speak with Stasia…

  18. Dokogomo Says:

.. Oh my god. o_o This page sooo rocks. (and like always, the MS Paint Sketch thingy made me laugh). Stasia really looks stunned. Very good job on this page, can hardly way for the others =3

  19. Discet Says:

wait marry me is gonna be a movie? and by graphic novel like a comic book. If so will we be able to buy online?

Also SICK PAGE! That is awsome

  20. Bobby Crosby Says:

“I am sorry to say this Bobby, but you don’t manage to sell off Mr Tyler as the jerk you insisted on concerning the last strip.”

Don’t really get it. Even jerks can have good moments and this goes to show Guy’s skill. This is the big happy ending starting. Five pages of happiness.

  21. NadiaZeta Says:

    my two Ana OoO

  22. Galamere Says:

Heh, personally I think of that handshake as a

    Guy: “Checkmate.”
    Dad: “Well played.”

kind of thing, just a begrudging respect kind of smile, the standard ‘he’s got me there.’ bit

  23. Galamere Says:

But the look on Stay’s face is priceless, just a ‘@#$@! me…’ look, Gold.

  24. Naoko Says:

Oh, wow. That last panel with Stasia’s face… I lol’d. For real. Best face ever. Great job on drawing that, Eisu! XD

In response to the comments about how Mr. Tyler is supposed to be a jerk… He may be pushy, but he is just looking out for his family. He just goes too far with it. Well, it is Bobby’s character though, and if Bobby thinks he’s a jerk, then I guess he’s a jerk, hahah. But I like Mr. Tyler. At least his motives behind wanting to “hoard” (for lack of a better word) the money are noble, thanks to the clarification in the past comics.

  25. Bobby Crosby Says:

    “if Bobby thinks he’s a jerk, then I guess he’s a jerk”

He schemed behind Stasia’s back to set her up multiple times with a stupid moron who she hates (Christian).

“At least his motives behind wanting to ‘hoard’ (for lack of a better word) the money are noble”

I don’t think they’re noble. They have more than enough money and the noble thing is giving so much away to charity and cancer research, which he’s against (against doing so much of it).

  26. Calia Says:

I love this page. There is simply nothing else I can say, except that I absolutely love it. It’s wonderful. Fantastically done, Bobby and Eisu.

  27. Proxess Says:

i think stasia is thinking “ok daddy bought this guy as well, i’ve been had again! that thing with Christian was all a setup!”

  28. Lee Donbo Says:

I love her face in the last panel.

  29. David Kastrup Says:

@Bobby: the characters and story you write are not one-dimensional, and the drawings lend another dimension to it. Real-life persons are seen by other humans in a variety of different ways. That’s natural.

If your characters are not as boring and black-and-white to be seen identically by all sorts of different readers, that’s not really something bad, I think. It means that your characters have depth and can be seen from more than one angle. I think it is a compliment to your storywriting that people can identify even with the motivation of characters you design as jerks.

  30. Bobby Crosby Says:

“Bobby: the characters and story you write are not one-dimensional, and the drawings lend another dimension to it. Real-life persons are seen by other humans in a variety of different ways. That’s natural.”

Why the hell are you telling me this? Do you want to tell me that 2+2 is 4 now?

“I think it is a compliment to your storywriting that people can identify even with the motivation of characters you design as jerks.”

Anyone who likes Mr. Tyler is either a jerk or a moron or doesn’t remember things he did earlier in the story (this happens constantly).

  31. Desirae Says:

Guy is wonderful and just perfect cause he was able to pull that off without Mr. Tyler having a total explosion on him. And Stasia…….I know she is shocked but once she gets over the mild state of silince. She will relize now she doesn’t have to worry about ‘Daddy’ disaproving of Guy who she so obviously is falling for. Its so AWWWWWWW HOW CUTE in a way. It made me giggle wonderful art and story line as usual!

  32. chumash99 Says:

Unfortunately, the handshake is just a “let’s be friends” shake, rather than a “welcome to the family, son” shake. But we’ll see that one soon! :D

  33. Azzy K Says:

Now THAT’S how you do an “OMFG!” look.

  34. Jonathan-Christian Says:

I’d have to agree with Galamere about this comic, although I can imagine Mr. Tyler adding a simple ‘Heh’, in panel four.

The man’s a jerk, but he does have his moments. I wonder how Stasia’s going to handle all this…

  35. Sara Says:

    heheh!
aww daddy looks so nice when he smiles!!

  36. Stuart Says:

All I have to say is, with so few pages left, will there still be enough time for Stasia to cure cancer?

  37. Alice Says:

Well, I guess there’ll still be time to cure cancer after the scope of the movie. ;)

If there were more pages left, I would totally expect Stasia to take the handshake as proof that she’s being set up again, although this time for failure in the relationship.

  38. Random Says:

    Just love that last panel…

I would be interested in buying the book.. though honestly, I wouldn’t mind waiting more just for the series just be a little bit longer.. then again.. I don’t know if you could even wait longer to get this in print…

  39. Jenn Says:

Hahah! Love Stasia’s reaction in the last panel.

    She’s so cute. <3

  40. Matt Says:

    hmmm…

If there was more time left in the series (why is so important that it end soon, anyway?), I’d say this looks like the beginnings of some “crazy mixup”

  41. Mattz Says:

    You’re a genius.

    I’m sorry, but:

    You’re a genius.

I won’t be a prick and say it a third time, though.

    ” :O “

  42. Bobby Crosby Says:

“why is so important that it end soon, anyway?”

That’s like asking why it’s important for “Sleepless in Seattle” to end soon when there’s five minutes left.

  43. Mattz Says:

“(why is so important that it end soon, anyway?),”

He’s stated many times that it needs to be done for the comic-con. Which is in 5 days. I think.

(Tried going back a few pages to search for a date, couldn’t find it.)

  44. Bobby Crosby Says:

Mattz: That’s not what he meant.

  45. THE MIK Says:

i just red the comic from the beging to this page.
and i must say one thing.

    “THIS IS A FREKING MASTERPECE”

when i get o comic con i am definatly gona get a copy.

  46. MCCLENNYJT Says:

This is a fantastic webcomic. It’s certainly geared for women to go “awwwww…” over, but at the same time, it’s got enough cool stuff and fun jokes to make it enjoyable for guys as well. I nearly laughed my ass off when Guy punched Christian in the face. “NO, NOT THE FACE!” Awesome job, and I’ll be sad when this comic is over, but I am glad that mini-stories will be cropping up from time to time!

  47. invaderhog Says:

omg! It is lookin’ freakin’ awesome! I love her face, she kills me. ^.^

  48. Kasha Says:

In my dreams, Guy would be played by Robert Downey Jr.

  49. Istra Says:

    “ZOMC NO WAY!”

    Heh, good going Guy. ^__^

    ~Istra~

  50. Eniac Says:

OMG her face at the end is priceless ^^

  51. Micah Says:

    “Pavlov Says:

    June 22nd, 2008 at 3:10 pm
All the good guys have beards. That’s great, just great! ”

That’s a fact: all good guys DO have beards. Good catch.

  52. Loki Says:

Who’s the guy who isn’t Guy with the brown hair and glasses in the first panel?

  53. Kyle Says:

“Anyone who likes Mr. Tyler is either a jerk or a moron or doesn’t remember things he did earlier in the story (this happens constantly).”

…or just someone who appreciates how the character was created.

Anyways…Forgive me if it’s been asked, but will this comic be shipping out to any major stores at any point? If not, I may order it online. I’m fairly interested in a copy.

  54. Evil713 Says:

i think this calles for a man-hug in the next page, you know right hand still in the hand shake left arm hug and pat.

this is just a freaking sweet comic and im glad you are continuing it past the origonal plot.

most webcomics of epic scale are written to the point where there is a guarinteed end, and admittidly it is good to end things, and to end them with all thing setteled.

movie wise, yes it is nearing the end, webcomic wise, i see this going for years.

  55. Bobby Crosby Says:

“or just someone who appreciates how the character was created.”

Hmm. You can certainly enjoy/be entertained by the character, but I was specifically referring to liking him as a person. Like people who actually like Draco and want him to marry Hermione and crap like that. I hate those people.

“will this comic be shipping out to any major stores at any point?”

It’s months late to comic shops. Was solicited for April, should be in stores at the end of July. Didn’t get a million orders, though — most likely you’ll need to order it from this site.

  56. FenrisWolf Says:

I can understand people saying they ‘like’ Stasia’s father as a character; villains are easy to like, they often have the most flamboyant personalities. That doesn’t mean you want to live next door to them, or *shudder* be related to them.

Much as I hate to see this particular story come to a conclusion, I’m kind of glad as well. (And I will be watching for those promised short stories!) Otherwise I would expect Ana’s reaction to the handshake to lead to some huge misunderstanding before she and Guy were able to resolve things. As it is, with the end so close it’s more likely to cement her decision, which I suspect will involve her holding the ‘Marry Me?’ sign up to Guy, or something similar. Great work as usual!

  57. Oceanofnoise Says:

If this ending goes anywhere near a song and dance routine, I will laugh heartily and wait for the “Lol, Joke!” to appear on screen…

    Just please don’t do it.

Loving the comic, expertly written by Bobby with beautiful artwork from Eisu.
    Whats not to love!!!

  58. Jandalman Says:

What!? Only four more pages?…*sniff*…oh no…I’m a man…I can’t cry…musn’t…cry…*sniff*…WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! :-( Cursed emotions! Ah well it was an absolute BLAST reading this web comic. I have no other choice but to see it to the end. Many, many thanks for creating such a wonderful story Bobby; and Remy for bringing out such amazing life from the characters onto the comic panels! You two deserve a giant medal each made of solid gold and encrusted with diamonds. Then you can sell it on ebay or something for tons of mullah and use the cash to make the movie!

  59. MobiusZero Says:

    Part of “guy” plan…LOL!

  60. Rosebud Says:

[BOBBY: Anyone who likes Mr. Tyler is either a jerk or a moron or doesn’t remember things he did earlier in the story]

I’m an optimist (and this is a comedy, not tragedy :) ), so I often hope for redemption, where reasonable. Mind you, there are degrees. What Julianne did to Michael in My Best Friend’s Wedding was underhanded, but it had your “happy ending”. And Darcy was redeemed in Pride in Prejudice. Or even Scrooge in A Christmas Carol. Even Darcy’s crasser relatives eventually came around to having a civilized, though chilled, relationship with Elizabeth.

So I don’t see Mr. Tyler as a villain. Perhaps he has a bit of Archie Bunker to him. Archie was a “jerk”, but for all the annoying things he did, you still liked the guy. Or at least begrudgingly enjoyed disliking him.

  61. Pat Says:

    Kasha Says:

“In my dreams, Guy would be played by Robert Downey Jr.”

I hope they can cast someone good but not him, but then again there are not too meny really good actors young enough to play Guy. Downey is not really Guy material. Who would you get to play the bodyguard - Spike Lee?

  62. FenrisWolf Says:

How about Orlando Bloom for Guy, Ving Rhames(sp?) for the bodyguard, and….hmmm, too bad he’s retired, Sean Connery would be great as the father….

  63. VisionAri Says:

    @FenrisWolf:

I kind of like the idea of Bloom for Guy but Rhames… I don’t know, he’s a bit too “Bad MuthaF–ka”. Denny’s got a tough-guy veneer, but he’s really just a big sweetheart underneath.

  64. Alicia Says:

Facial expression in the last panel for the win?

  65. E13 Says:

Nah, I like Mr. Tyler about as much as I like Dr. Doom or any good antagonist - I relish them as a bad guy, love them as a character, but would likely loathe them in real life. I understand his motives - I did jerks pretty well during my last ten years as an actor - but that doesn’t mean I have to like his actions.

  66. Pat Says:

    FenrisWolf Says:
“How about Orlando Bloom for Guy, Ving Rhames(sp?) for the bodyguard, and….hmmm, too bad he’s retired, Sean Connery would be great as the father….”

Orlando Bloom? hmmm thats not a bad idea at all. Sean Connery as the dad would be nice but i don’t think he’ld do it, maybe we can get Kelsy Gramer as the dad. How about “sir mixalot” as the bodyguard?

  67. Toast Says:

I must be the only one who just can’t seem to put together “Guy” and “Orlando Bloom.” I guess I can see where you’re coming from with it, but I just can’t visually see him playing Guy.

  68. jane_1102 Says:

hey, guy is soooooooooo goooodddd (just like me) he’s like an angel!!!!!!!!!!!! andddddddddddd, i really like ur comic this really must have a movie one! and i would watch 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000+ times!!! hehehe!! and pls. watch POKEMON, especially pokemon advance generation

  69. chumash99 Says:

Isn’t Sean Connery dead? No, wait, not dead; he *is* 78, though. A little out of Mr. Tyler’s age range? Ving Rhames would make a perfect Denny, though. Mark Wahlberg as Guy, maybe? Anyway…

Loved the handshake, even if it was just a “let’s be friends” shake rather than a “welcome to the family” shake. And oh boy, if Mr. Tyler was shocxked by “Parker”, he’s going to really hate the next page. :D

  70. Alisha Says:

I agree with tegan. guy has GOT to be a vampire to be this perfect lol :)

  71. Marmaduke Says:

All I have to say is, awww…
